Will Russia-Pakistan joint drill change the balance of power in Asia?
This week India-Russia relationship moved from being 'special' to regular. As Russian troops landed in Pakistan for a two-week counter-terrorism joint exercise the 'degree of separation' of the original strategic partners only increased, coming as it did in less than a week after the Uri terror strike. Even though India and Russia are also engaged in counter-terrorism exercises in Vladivostok (for the eighth year running), watching Russian troops land in Pakistan is a new experience in the region.

Russia is central to India's foreign policy goals and to the balance of power in Asia. "The challenge for us is to keep the India-Russia relationship stable in a loosening great power universe," a source said. Russia remains India's top defence supplier, but Indian officials confirmed they have asked Moscow to make a choice between Pakistan and India. It's a red line that Moscow has breached and things may never be the same again..

Thanks whoever pinned this. I thought it might be too serious for a Sunday morning, but I do think it's a game changer and, although everyone expects WW3 to kick off in the ME, I think they're taking their eye off the ball here - bearing in mind these are both countries with nukes, and not known for their calm rational peace-loving behaviour.

Interesting.

I always thought that India would be the X Factor in the next world war, because they're officially neutral but have game-changing firepower.

For example. China goes to war with the US in Asia, plus Taiwan, Philippines and Vietnam. As the region goes to full war-footing, Pakistan and India put their forces on red-alert and mobilise. North Korea invades South Korea, draining US manpower in the region, and eventually China gains the upper hand (even though Pyongyang has been vaporised by now).

In the chaos, Pakistan is drawn into a resurgent war in Afghanistan involving Iran and the US. Their forces are further distracted by a series of Taliban attacks inside Lahore and Islamabad, as Pakistan threatens to turn into 'a new Syria'.

In a twist, India opens a major front against China. This is a curveball that turns the tide of the war and allows US forces to claw back. Hundreds of thousands of troops are engaged on both sides, but the US manages to deploy more troops, tanks, warships and aircraft to the South China Sea and Korean Peninsula.

Food for thought.

Re: Will Russia-Pakistan joint drill change the balance of power in Asia?
Putin brilliant in this latest move toward checkmate:

Keep your friends near and your enemies still closer.

This is literal here: India is nearby; Pak will be pulled toward Russia's breast.

The big war will soon kick off - starting between Pak and India, for many geopolitical reasons, most important of them: Russia and the US want to avoid direct nuke confrontation for as long as possible.

They both will want to see the aftermath of modern nukes dropped on dense pop urban centers; and how such horrors impact the leadership of not only the parties concerned- but the governments of all major players.

It will be like 911 to the ninth power - good by civilian air travel !

What a load of two faced Russian bullshit.

Russia condemn other nations for what "they" think is siding with terrorism yet they now are apparently "friends" with a nation that is one of the biggest Terrorist breeding grounds in the world. They people in from all around the the world in their Madrasa training camps and then send them back to their own countries to commit atrocities.

Strategic move by Russia prior to the end of the most complete and total piece of garbage the US ever embarrassed themselves before the world with. This is a great move by Putin. He has positioned himself as the power broker in the region, and it is good to see a power flex some muscle. Pakistan needs someone who respects them before they launch drone missile strikes upon their territory. As the punk ass bitch obama fades into his golf course, Russia, with great relations with all of the nuclear powers in the region, including Iran, has a stronghold now that the West will not be able to penetrate short of nuclear engagement. Well done, dumb ass obama.

The Philipines wats to distance itself from the US and get closer to China. In Vietnam there are a couple of pro western puppets in government but most dont want any conflict with China

Both India and China know that a war between them will only benefit the US. India has nothing to gain by going to war with China. Besides most of the Indian leadership strongly dislike the US.

.

Just another gambit by Russia on the Global Chessboard.

India, like Russia and China, is part of BRICS,and these ties are strong.

Making deals with Pakistan makes it more difficult for India and Pakistan to start shooting at each other under orders from the London Bankers.

Russia did the same in the Middle East with Egypt.

Eventhough Russia is strongly connected to Syria and Iran(both mainly Shia) they make deals with Egypt(Sunni),giving Egypt an alternative and making sure the Sunni -Shia war will stay off the menu.

Right now even Turkey is being more or less controlled by Russia, and Turkey is member of NATO.

Every country in the world wants to have good relations with BRICS(Russia and China),as an alternative to the collapsing West.

And Russia/China hava a bigger chance to stop WW3 being kicked off by London.

Re: Will Russia-Pakistan joint drill change the balance of power in Asia?

You are assuming India would join the US, However I think you would find that should the US look weakened EVERYONE would seize the opportunity to utterly destroy it, leading the way for a NEW WORLD ORDER..with NO one country bossing the world for corporations.

By London? Seriously? By globalists you mean - Clinton/Obama in the US and their patsies in the EU - It was the UK who broke free from them!

Re: Will Russia-Pakistan joint drill change the balance of power in Asia?
Back in the 90's we got these tapes called the Eschatology Hour. Well these were made by a David J Frye. They were very good informative tapes. He said back then the nuke war would start with India and Pakistan then escalate quickly across the globe. When I saw that India and Pakistan were getting it on now I remembered his warning. It looks like he was right on.bump
