Here standard stackable crates (originally for EPAL transport pallets) are very popular to grow in, you can even use them on a balcony high up when you use some watertight bottom plate. The season is so short that peppers must be grown for half a year indoors before planting them out, so some sorts of lettuce and young kale and peas and summer carrots and radishes are more realistic to grow. There are lesser known herbs and leafy plants that are interesting too, leaves you can harvest every day
