Florida orders mayors not to disclose zika virus found in mosquitoes in Orlando and Miami
Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine said he was present when Florida health department officials, including Miami-Dade Director Lillian Rivera and state Surgeon General Celeste Philip, instructed county and city officials not to disclose the locations in Florida where mosquitoes tested positive with zika virus were caught in mosquito traps because it would scare away tourists from florida.

Mayor Levine said Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam also told him that the health department had ordered the locations in florida of mosquito transmitted zika virus to remain secret as to not scare away tourists from Miami and Orlando.

Zika is in hillsborough county too. Have a relative who works at the hospital and they have confirmed zika cases with no travel or sexual contact. Basically the only way they could've gotten it was by mosquitos.

Reminds me of the attitude of the "authorities" in the first Jaws Movie.

Nothing ever changes.

Keeping tourists coming is MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than keeping people safe and healthy.

40 years have passed ... and the attitude of Government is STILL THE SAME as Hollywood portrayed long ago.

Palmer appeared noticeably frail in March when he served as host of his annual PGA tournament held at his Bay Hill Club & Lodge outside Orlando.

Imagine if word got out he died from Zika. He was in the hospital, probably was diagnosed and Zika is was did him in. It would be a media PR shitstorm.

DISCLOSE THE LOCATIONS AND FUCK THE TOURISTS IN THE ASS. THAT'S PROBABLY WHY THEY SHOWED UP IN THE FIRST PLACE, TO GET FUCKED.

THEN SEND FLORIDA OUT OF THE UNION FOR BEING TRAITORS TO CITIZENS' RIGHTS TO BE INFORMED.

Wasn't it Florida that they sprayed only a couple of weeks ago to kill the mozzies spreading this 'disease', which also killed 2.5 billion or so bees in the process????

The Zika virus if you are the 20% that actually develop symptoms causes mild flu like symptoms for 2-7 days as per the video I posted above (& that is from the CDC database) so why the huge panic??????

Good thinking.
All this will do is chase tourists away from the parts of Florida where the virus hasn't been discovered.

It can also cause paralysis and who knows what else. Do you think they're trying to keep the spread a secret if there was nothing to worry about? It can cause much more serious illness than they are reporting.

35 Facts (and Controversies) About Zika

[link to sharylattkisson.com (secure)]

29. Zika is not considered a fatal disease. CDC says it only “very rarely” contributes to death.

31. Zika can rarely, possibly cause Guillain-Barré syndrome, in which the immune system attacks the nerves causing paralysis. So can some vaccines, according to CDC, including flu vaccine and swine flu vaccine.

35. Congress and the Obama administration agree that at least $140 million to $200 million tax dollars should go to Zika vaccine development.

It's ok you can line up for the new Zika virus vaccine that I'm sure will be coming out any day now if you are so worried. Myself I don't believe a word about the virus causing anything other than mild flu like symptoms. I do believe it will fade away just like all of the latest viruses have over the years after they have introduced the new vaccines & 'eliminated' said virus.

Why would I line up for a vaccine when i just wrote i don't trust what the cdc has to say and i certainly wouldn't trust a vaccine they've rushed to the market. People should try to avoid getting zika as best they can. You can do whatever the hell you want, i don't really care.
