You people must not know how to take photos of a meteor.

You have a good camera on a tripod first.

Then you set the shutter to stay open for a number of seconds or minutes.

The lady who took the pic explained it

She had the shutter open for 25 seconds. So as the meteor travels across the sky it creates a streak obviously.

Obviously a meteor looks like a streak of light you can say light beam but that is a bad description because its a streak across the sky of a rock burning up.
