Mel's Hole (Art Bell Classic)
A man identifying himself as Mel Waters of the Ellensburg area appeared on “Coast to Coast with Art Bell,” a nationally syndicated AM talk show. Bell’s late-night show featured quirky and alien- and conspiracy-filled stories.

Waters, in a lengthy conversation with Bell by phone, talked about a mysterious hole in the ground on his rural property about nine miles west of Ellensburg. Federal government agents seized the land with no explanation as to whether the hole was a dangerous threat or important to national security or both.

I wonder what happened to ol' Mel, I suppose the truth is out there somewhere.

If you're having a slow night on GLP and having a drink and smoke to relax and have never heard the story of Mel and his hole in the ground, this will satisfy your interest, so sit back and enjoy the 1997 instant classic broadcast as Art interviews Mel.

This is one of my personal favorites from Art, Enjoy.

This show was pretty interesting, however the way Mel tells his story is very captivating and he sounds very genuine with his claims, unfortunately, Mel fell off the face of the earth and nobody has ever been able to find this hole.

I did see one AC post in an older thread on the subject who claimed to have seen it and throw stuff in it but who knows if his claims are legit.

I wonder where the hole leads...any theories?

Why would the government need to keep it a secret?

There are a few theories about it.

Mel had claimed someone told him a story about throwing his dead dog in the hole and later saw the same dog alive and well a short time later after throwing the dog into it, others have reported seeing "black light" shoot out of the hole.

The residential locals used it as a garbage dump for years, throwing dead cattle and all kinds of garbage in it and it has never filled up.

Perhaps it's a portal of some kind, or perhaps a hole to hell.

There's never been any evidence to suggest that the hole even exists, however after Mel's initial interview, his second interview claims that the military basically took control of his land that the hole is supposedly located in because an "airplane" crashed in the area, but we all know that the "crashed airplane" wasn't the reason they were there.

Even so, the people who may have wanted to cover it up have the budget to do so.

So it's hard for me to conclude that it wasn't real just because there's an article saying it's not real.

People and organizations have agendas, and with pushing agendas comes coverups and lies.

Perhaps the hole never existed, and if it does exist, it could have been easily covered up by those whose agenda it serves, not only that, every man has his price.

Chaching!

I have personally seen a cover up, as I was a teen sent to a controversial residential program.

I know how these people work and I know their tactics.

So IMO I'm still open to the possibility of Mel's claims being true. However, I find it's better to stay neutral to the idea that way, if it's true, you win, if it's false, you still win. No skin off the nose.
