Urged to Evacuate Ahead of Hurricane Matthew
So basically all of the east coast of Florida, southern South Carolina, North Carolina & anyplace else?

Where do these people plan to evacuate to?
Get on a bus to a safe zone in a school somewhere?

Wow

I have been through a few storms in Florida, living on an island, I have never heard or imagined the day I would see millions leave their homes in an evacuation from multiple states.

Highways are only opened one-way, what if you needed to go back? Shit out of luck?

What could possible go wrong here
damned

I lived in central Florida and it was hilarious to watch people go full tard over hurricanes. Ive been in a lot of them and I always thought they were fun lol--only scary part is at night when the tornado sirens are going off and all you hear is hella wind so you duno if there's a tornado on the way or not. Was in all of them that hit central Florida from 2003-2006, Ivan and Charlie we're the best ones lol.
Indiana sucks....Don't move here.

1.5 million in Florida alone. hiding

More than 1.5 million Floridians live in evacuation zones, according to Gov. Rick Scott (R). Late Wednesday, Scott asked President Obama to declare a federal emergency in Florida due to the storm’s “potential to bring devastating impacts to millions of Floridians.” In total, more than 2 million people were under evacuation orders from Florida to South Carolina.

Scott has declared a state of emergency in Florida — as have his counterparts in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina — and across the state, residents hunkered down as the storm approached.

A lot of them just go to central Florida and stay with friends/relatives/hotels--it's a hurricane not a 5 mile long meteor slamming into the Atlantic lol.

Re: Urged to Evacuate Ahead of Hurricane Matthew
2 million now told to evacuate?
Where?????

"Nearly two million people were under evacuation orders in Georgia, South Carolina and Florida, where residents braced for a possible impact from the storm, stocking up on supplies and boarding up homes. The National Weather Service has advised that “loss of life” and “immense human suffering” is possible from wind for those who do not take precaution for the storm."

Goes on ....

"Following a briefing with his homeland security team at FEMA headquarters in Washington, D.C., President Obama told reporters Hurricane Matthew is “a serious storm, and we want everybody to take it seriously as well.”

“Just remember that you can always rebuild,” Obama said. “You can always repair property. You cannot restore a life if it is lost and we want to make sure that we minimize any possible loss of life or risk to people in these areas.”

Then ....

“Catastrophic damage” is also a possibility, and the storm could “leave areas uninhabitable for weeks,” the NWS announced Wednesday evening.
