Hawking warns world to wake up to impending Armageddon

Stephen Hawking is somebody worth listening to, but I'm not convinced that man can do anything to stop the climate change.

I agree with both statements, but he sure does seem determined to get off this planet.

There seems to be a certain inevitability about what's to come very shortly. Perhaps the best thing we can do as a humanity now, is to change ourselves...

maybe we could start putting additives in airplane exhaust that could remain suspended in the atmosphere and somehow reflect or sheild the earth from excess solar radiation, resulting in a global decline in temperature.

Maybe one day a week, everyone should be required to go out and fly a mylar kite to reflect the sun's radiation, LOL.

If Hawking would admit to the solar system wide evidence of change chronicled by Dmitriev he would contribute greatly to the initiation of honest dialogue about what is really going on.

The changes are for our benefit and are part of a purification process made necessary by mankind's almost total disregard for decent manufacturing, agricultural and fishing (to mention just a few of the total) processes in use since the industrial revolution began.

What is behind these unstoppable changes and what great awakening is in store for mankind are the questions? All we need to do is remove the totally insane leaders that currently have all the propaganda and psyop guns available pointed at their own citizens. Then we can get into the important, fun and stimulating part of the game completely.

Los Angeles, Alta California - October 18, 2005 - (ACN) On March of this year, physics professor and astronomer Scott Hyman of Sweet Briar College made a startling announcement. Dr. Hyman and his colleagues wrote in the science journal Nature that they had detected something very extraordinary at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. While analyzing low frequency radio wave images taken by the Very Large Array telescope at Socorro, New Mexico in 2002, Dr. Hyman and his his fellow researchers detected an intermittent signal that seemed intelligently directed. The signal consisted of five highly energetic radio emissions of equal brightness that lasted 10 minutes each and appeared every 77 minutes over a 7-hour period from September 30 to October 1. The discovery has left Professor Scott Hyman and the entire astronomy community "scratching their heads".

The probability that these were random events is so close to zero as to not even be worth discusssing.

With all due respect, that's an irresponsible cop out... an environmental cut and run, if you will. Not to let a couple nasty facts spoil one's fun, but...

1. The positive correlation between (increased) CO2 levels and corresponding increases in temperature are irrefutable.

(This is not based on subjective pondering, but well-documetned and globally accepted empiracal data. Now, one may choose to ignore said data - and IMO that's one's individual, inalieanable right. Afterall, as a society, we tolerate all sorts of Unarius-like woo-woo sects and biblical literalists. I guess I don't see why we shouldn't likewise tolerate someone who chooses to believe there's no use in cross-cultural social and behavioral modifaction aimed at lessoning our contribution to a process that - whether natural or manmade - threatens our continued existence on this planet.)

2. The ten hottest years ever recorded have occurred within the last 15 years. Based on the relationship established in pt. {b](1) above, one may safely (i.e., with a high degree of certainty) forecast it is somewhere between high probable and mathematically certain we will see a continued rise in temperatures. Even if such a continued rise occurs at a rate of one quarter the well-establised and accepted historical average, we will see an unprecendented rise in global temperatures.

(Last summer, during the worst heat wave, in our part of San Diego the temperature rose to 120 degrees (a little over 48 degrees Celsius). Our patio thermometer, in an isolated shady area exposed to open air, read 116. Even with our AC running, the temperature inside the house rose well above 90 degrees (a little over 32 degrees C).)

3. Unprecendeted events such as the melting of the Siberian permafrost (first time in 11,000 years) present real-time visual evidence of the effect of unprecedented global warming.

(It should be noted that the methane released by this process is only serving to further increase the rate of environmental deterioration.)

Okay. Once you have - or rather if you have - chosen by now to accept that yes, there is an unprecedented level of change occurring on our planet that may indeed threaten our very way of life on this planet as we have known it for thousands of years, I postulate the following:

As the custodians of this planet (when's the last time you saw a dolphin sponsor environmental legislation?) and the progenitors of future generations, it is our responsibility to do everything we can to slow, stop, or maybe even reverse this process.

Anything else is a complete abdication of our moral responsibility.

Nature tends to put 'man' in its place.

The scientists also bear responsibility for this, for without knowledge nuclear weapons would not be possible...

Why don't the scientists themselves wake up and take responsibility for their actions...

And that means not doing nuclear weapons research, or weapons researche of any kind for any government in any part of the world, and refusal to train or teach any scientist who does so, and boycotting of their work, and refusal to puplish their work, or talk to them or relate to them as if they were paraiah's, humanitys future is at stake...

...huh..I don't know what to think about this. Hawking, being one the most respected visionaries of our time is rallying behind a lost cause?

"The other planets are heating up as well, Pluto (well it used to be a planet.. poor Pluto) is heating even though it's on a portion of it's elliptical orbit taking it further from our Sun. Mars is warming up. Jupiter is warming up. Some regions of Saturn (polar just like earth) appear to be warming. Neptune's largest moon, Triton, is warming up. Neptune herself is warming up but it's spring on Neptune so that's to be expected. Uranus is warming up but it's also spring on Uranus. So all the planets farther from the sun than Earth are also warming."

Hawkings is a

Stephen Hawking is bought and paid for. It's a little late in the game for him to be jumping on the "global warming " band wagon.

He thinks he can run away huh? Well all the elites do. Sad to think some other planet or system would be infested by them.

Many scientists have been attempting to take responsibility for the actions of past and present scientists however, when the powers that be prioritize on putting their influence and energy into KILLING people, there isn't much more funding to go where it is DESPERATLY needed. It is now 2007 and USA (as well as other major economical countries) STILL don't have proper healthcare, employment stability or equal rights.
Almost EVERY major problem that should have been solved AT LEAST decades ago...have taken a backseat to the all consuming military industrial complex. This political environment has been put in place by "special interest groups" who not only have ZERO knowledge about what should be our priorities, but also have ZERO interest in these all important problems.

Until we have people in power who not only realize the simple fact that GLOBAL SURVIVAL and PROSPERITY are MUCH more important than issues like gay marriage, but also actually CARE that our planet is dying, we have no hope!

This is what happens when you have people in power who;
1) Make so much money that the important issues to MOST citizens such as healthcare and employment do not affect them, therefore they don't care about them, and...
2) Are religious freaks who obsess over other people's ideals and lifestyles instead of prioritizing on REAL issues!

The U.S. constitution is a no brainer, it was designed to protect us citizens from not only criminals but a criminalizing government (which the U.S.A. has become). If the legislators simply STICK to the constitution, MOST of these silly issues that waste time and energy wouldn't even be issues! However, the U.S.A. governmental bureaus have been pissing all over the constitution for so long now...it is nothing more than a symbol of what this country was supposed to be rather than what it is. An example of this dismantling of the constitution is the Napoleanic law that our municipal courts are. To claim that we are "Innocent until proven guilty" is a terrible lie and a sick joke. In fact, we are guilty until proven innocent! Proven innocent simply means the defendant had enough money to get a REAL lawyer and not one of those BS public defenders.

I see little hope for our future unfortunatly. This could be a great planet that houses great civilizations, but it is instead a daycare center for rich boys trying to outdo their greedy parents!

I hate the idea of people killing each other, but we NEED a revolution otherwise, these corrupt bastards will be our undoing! Only people who CARE should be in charge, if they were...we wouldn't be complaining about this on the internet, hoping (and praying) that SOMEONE with the power to do something, will!

Maybe is time to start some very fantascientific project like placing some very big installation around the planet that reflect at least part of the sunlight..i am sure is possible and also much more useful than spending billion for wars.

Soon or late if we still are here and not destroyed ourselves we will have to do someting about the sun... The Sun is a variable type star which just recently scientists agreed on this, this mean the Sun can be the cause of periodic long therm period of destruction.

I stil wonder what happen when the 11 year low activity cycle of the sun end...

UNfortunatly these chemicals dont stay up forever and when they come down they also poison, not to talk about the fact that they bring down bacteria that usually should not be there.

God is interactive, you know! You are right though, man 'alone' can do nothing to stop it but 'with God' anything is possible!

Let's be honest, if thing are not fixed in a way or another in about 100 year from now 80-90% of the actual living species will die and with them there will be starvation for everyone, I cannot imagine with the actual rising of population how like 15 billions human are going to find food when there will be no more fish, birds and plants, these are already now starting to die off.

If he is behind the use of particle beam weapons, ionospheric heaters, and scalar technology, then I don't think much of him.

Nobody in their right mind will get rid of nuclear weapons.
