EURO DOOM IN THE AIR AGAIN. GREEK PEOPLE Want DEBT relief AGAIN. Greek minister: "Weve done our part. Now its time to discuss debt relief"
The Greek government is asking its creditors to avoid excuses and proceed with talks on much-needed debt relief for the country.

"This is the time, as we have complied with our obligations, for our partners to do their part," Nikos Pappas, the Greek minister of state, told CNBC.
"There are no excuses; no local or national elections should delay solutions that we have already agreed," he added.

Despite recognizing last May that Greece needs debt restructuring, some euro zone officials including the German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble - keep a hard stance against big concessions.

Greece's debt amounted to more than 300 billion euros (nearly $330 billion), representing roughly 180 percent of its gross domestic product in 2015.

oh thanks mods.

euro is moving and going lower and lower since april.
It may crashed to its low in 1,04.
if that level fails...then it`s doom for the euro.

on a weekly basis...it is a bit oversold. but it can `keep going lower more.
monthly charts pointing to a potential visit of the 1,04$ level for the euro

Sadly, a Grexit will not occur (even if that is the best thing for Greece in the long run). Their leaders are unwilling to make that change.

There are other much bigger players about to leave the Euro-Zone that will do infinitely more harm to the EU than a Grexit.

The frontrunner in the French polls (Marine Le Pen) wants out of the Euro. When France leaves the Euro, it's game over.

Of course they didnt want to leave. They want all of YOU other nations to cover their failed state and their easy living. After all, isnt that what european democratic socialism is all about?

Yay for democratic socialism! I cant wait for it to come to America so we too can eventually become a failed state! At least I will enjoy full time 28 hour work weeks, awesome (and fully unpayable) pensions, and "slap on the wrist for murder" court systems!

I wouldn't wish doom on anyone, even though they may deserve it.

the average work week does not say anything about how wealthy a nation is.

Average work week in US is 34h a week and there are 15 countries that work longer BUt tell me if any of these countries pay their employees better:

The longest work hours in Europe and the 2nd in the OECD countries. They work over 2000 hours per annum. Compare that to Germany's 1400 or so. The USA is about 1800.

They pay 22.% of GDP in taxes and for a relative lowly paid country that's quite a lot. Compare that to Germany's 11.5% and the USA's 10.6%. The people who dodge tax in Greece and other countries are almost the wealthy and are very difficult to apprehend. Some pathetic countries are even incapable of apprehending known tax dodgers where the bill paid would be in the $ hundreds millions/billions.

As for defaulting. They're not the only European country to do so. Most of these defaults seem to be due to some war or crisis.

They should sign on with Iran. That shithole has found a lucrative business in extortion. Free billions loaded on pallets delivered to their doorstep and unchecked nuclear proliferation.
