I only use it for Google maps and streetview if I need to look something up. And Google Earth occasionally.

Any private information given to Google is in the database regardless of if you use them anymore or closed your accounts, once they know who you are then that follows you everywhere across devices, it truly is Orwellian

Google is a weird company though, in some ways they do good things other ways they are very shady.


The way it's looking there may need to be a serious competitor to youtube because that's quite a huge monopoly going forward. A competitor that values free speech and open source that is, things like Twitch i'm not sure is any better.

not only that. The free traffic stats they offer are widely used. If you use noscript you will see that you block googleanalytics on half (or even more?) of the sites you visit.
