They are still working to fix that. Some planes you can now use your cell phones and laptops internet connections on...some you can't. She was lying because she was not prepared to address the questions Only idiots hate facts |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 13126683 Hong Kong 01/02/2017 06:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The other thing to consider is todays cell phone is digital and in 2001 they were analog. Does this make a difference? I think so. I fly ALOT and accidentally leave my phone on occasionally and sometimes i will hear an incoming text alert while we are climbing out. as for a cell communication at cruise,,,35,000 ft, not gonna happen, ever. The 911 flights were at lower altitudes for a portion of their flights and maybe it was during this low altitude portion of the flight a cell connection was allowable. Also, remember in 2001 SOME aircraft were equipped with seatback Skyphones, they were disabled during takeoff and landing by the crew but very usable, I have used them back in the day for last minute/time critical communication. 9/11 a hoax? Not sure, but I can tell you that was some highly skilled flying by whoever, managing mass and energy of an airliner to hit a target is alot harder than doing the same thing in a Piper Aztec I bet, |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71182765 Thats not my experience at cruise....when I have discovered my phone left on enroute it has no signal. Nor do I receive incoming calls or text at altitude indicating passing from one area of coverage to another. This is world wide not just in the U S. |

This has always been laughable to those of us in the know. I lost a business deal to a real estate company on the top floor of a skyscraper. One bar signal at best and zero solution. All RF engineers will tell you the signal from the tower is pointed down. 911 cellphone story is as believable as the Apollo landings.
