I took a pre employment drug test last Friday. Haven smoked pot in almost 3 months. Any idea of when I should hear back from the job?

It is my understanding that marijuana stays in your system for up to 30 days. If you smoke intermittently, say, a couple of joints last week, the clock starts over. It will still show up in your system for up to 30 days since the last time you smoked.

As long as it was a urine test you're good. THC stays in your hair for months.

You should be good. I work offshore and I always passed the piss tests because I only occasionally smoked. I believe if You are skinny pot only stays in Your system about a month or less.

The 30 day thing came from a study they did where they attached a radioactive isotope to a THC molecule and injected it into someone and were able to trace it for 30 days.

I smoked nonstop for 4 years and passed a test in 4 days by taking nothing but goldenseal root and water.

I would roll two joints and put them on my nightstand. If I woke up, I'd smoke them, then go back to sleep. That's how much weed I smoked.

And I passed in 4 days.

Did they test pee or hair sample?

Where I worked they had a cutoff point on the THC result,so you could still have a tiny count and pass.

BTW,they announced on a friday tests on monday,and not one nurse failed.Good to know your nurses arent druggin' it.

Urine, 30 days and you're golden, I've passed in two weeks before. Hair will test positive much longer, I see a lot of new workers with shaved heads. If you quit 11 weeks for a pee test, you passed unless they screwed your test up.

There's a threshold to testing positive also, you can have metabolites up to a certain level and still pass. Make your pee too clean and they can flunk you, don't study too hard for the test, as in tanking up on water. One lab had someone watching out the window, when I walked in she yelled "He's on the Gatorade!"

While we have the attention of some experienced posters, can I ask? ... I've never even seen meth, let alone use any, and never around anyone that does, to my knowledge. So why do I always test borderline for meth on those stupid dip cards used on job sites? I even tested myself to see, and every one showed low level for meth.

I despise the drug testing industry. They are completely free to make mistakes and toss your life into the trash as a result, and you will have no recourse. At least I never did.

Tested for a good job once, drove 140 miles to do it. I was clean. Sealed the pee bottle, signed my name across the seal, put pee bottle into a box, sealed and signed, put the box in a bag, sealed and signed. When I got home, the phone was ringing ... "Oh we're sorry, the seal was broken on your bottle. Will you come back today?" Many other stories like that too, much worse.

Then there's those certain places that have a Herman McPervin that stands right there and watches the pee come out of your nozzle. Not standing behind you, right there leaning over close enough to count hairs! fer crissakes dude! They'll even check your crotch and pants for containers. This is at a major chemical plant, not some parole/probation/jail deal.

Got flunked once for washing my hands afterward, out of habit. Never made that mistake again!

I saw an interesting statement. It said they do drug test,
but it would only be an issue if there is "an excessive amount"

Where I work is my own company. I have never had any prospective employee tested for any drug.

I have simple criteria, can you do the job or can you not?

If you can do the job at hand, fine. What you do on your own time is your own issue.

If you cannot do the job, then I won't be hiring. Simple as.

If at some point in the future your personal life/activities impinge on your performance, then I will try to help out.

Usually takes 10 -14 days for them to get back to you, unless someone there is a member here...then your gig is up.

May I *very respectfully* point out that if it's stressing you out...perhaps smoking weed is not worth the risk.

Since it is stored in fat cells, it can be in one's system for months and even years. DO NOT work out/exercise before giving a sample, but you have enough time. A limit is set. You won't have enough in your system to "trip" it into a "positive" result. I only say this because many people think it's out after a month but in fact that's about the amount of time or it to decrease in your system enough to not trigger a positive.
Also, please relax at the testing place. Believe me, they've seen it all and pot is nothing in comparison.
I remember being admitted to the hospital and the intake nurse asked "Do you do any drugs?" I honestly said, "oh every now and then I smoke a little pot to relax". She smiled and said "no no, I mean DRUGS", lol.

If you are hired, will there be random drug tests?
You can drink a bunch of gatorade or pedialite before to dilute things.
Also, when you pee in the cup, start your pee into the toilet, not the cup... as the stream is flowing, then move the cup into the stream to get the sample. This is really overkill, dude, Trust me and others. You will be fine.
