I haul my own water,with out doing laundry i easily use 50 gallons a day and i am being ultra conservative with it. Now if you are single that is a different story,but with a family of five i can use up to or over hundred gallons easy if i was hooked up to a water line.

Small hotel?
Bed and Breakfast?
Animal shelter?
Medical office?

We use 90 gallons a day for three people and two come and go every day 7 days a week. Without the work wear it would be less.

Only 8% of California's water supply is used for residential consumption. Why punish millions of people rather than go after the big industrial and agricultural users? Jerry Brown is a big government fool.

Also, the state itself has ridiculous policies. I have driven past Shasta Lake numerous times and seen it full, and driven back the other way two or three days later to see it so low there were islands and tree stumps poking out. And this was during one of the most catastrophic droughts in recent history. The Lake/reservoir holds 200 TRILLION gallons.

I could understand needing to empty the reservoir if they knew a huge storm was going to be arriving off the Pacific, and they would need the capacity to avoid flooding.

But that isn't why they do it.

They empty it to keep the salinity levels in the Sacramento River delta downstream at a certain level in order to protect an endangered fish native to the river delta. Agricultural runoff is what increases the salinity, so fresh water has to be flushed through to make the habitat friendly for the delta smelt.

So who has to make up the difference? The citizens of California. Soon they will be limited to 55 gallons a day, then it will be lowered to 50 gallons a day. Ridiculous.

we have 4 water wells on our land. They each pump about 500 gallons a minute. They run 24/7 during the summer.

But this is nothing as compaired to Dairy water usage.
