18 year old dogs last walk...
A sad, but joyful tale of Walnut the dying 18 year old dog.

Walnut enjoyed one final stroll earlier this morning before passing away peacefully in his owner's arms.

Earlier this morning, Walnut the whippet enjoyed a bracing walk along the North Cornwall coastline he loved so much.

Not only was the faithful dog accompanied by his owner, Mark Woods, and family, but hundreds of other dog owners and members of the public also came along to make his final walk memorable.

Mark had posted a deeply moving Facebook post earlier in the week inviting anyone who felt so inclined to join him and Walnut for one last stroll along Porth beach, Newquay.

Don't mind admitting, I shed a tear over this story!

RIP doggie! 18 years, nice long life for dog, his family must have treated him really well.

I have an "older" dog, not looking forward to his final walk, but he's had a great life with us. Truly a member of our family.

I deal with all animals but mostly dogs for a living. I just lost one of my favorite dogs last week. What a beautiful idea and video. Thanks for it.

5 stars OP thanks. I have a bulldog (my avatar) and she is my best friend besides of course my wife. I don't go anywhere without her. I can't even imagine life without her so I'm cherishing all the moments I have with her now.
My wife might say I spoil her but I don't, I just find it hard to say no lol

Beautiful! I know a woman who walked her dog in her favorite place, planned a picnic and gave her dog a bucket of KFC ( her favorite treat) for her last day....perfect day and send off for a truly loved friend.

If only people would bring up the effort to do the very same thing for their fellow man, how much different could this world actually become?

Yet most of us die a harrowing death in complete solitude and people only show up to lament a cold and lifeless body.
