I do know from seeing other driven people in my life, that when they retire or finish that final project or whatever, they deteriorated fast. Real fast. Of the 4 that I know of, the longest lasted two and a half years, deteriorating the entire time. Once the mind gives up or feels less useful, the body follows fast.
