hi Ljs, hope the house painting is coming along nicely. Bet you can't wait to get your garden and all the extras going too.

Hummingbirds are so soothing!! Hopefully these will show up for you there also.

Taping off the laundry room to paint in an antique white. It is currently dark red with a gloss glaze. Kinda scary. Much more scary than our budget stalker.

Anique white is so pretty.
The current color sounds, well, horrifying Eww.

Pantone color of the year prediction for 2019

Uuummmm What do you think? I think they are trying to get brighter tones to mesh with grays that are so popular right now.
I like it!

Also PPG just unveiled their color of the year on Wednesday evening. Goes well with the Pantone pick, but jewel tones are NOT my thing.

Good luck with the painting LJS.!

Night watch is very similar to a color my daughter has used in her room -- her color scheme is an inspiration from a Budha painting I found, andshe appropriated from me.

Not crazy about the Pantone color, as I have a preference for softer colors. Used an ethereal shade in the formal dining room that a bit blue, bit green and a bit grey - very pale in tint to work with my dark vintage furniture and pair of gilded mirrors. Otherwise, I am using a lot of Edwardian Linen (a years ago, discontinued Ralph Lauren color that is absolutely yummy) and black lacquer on the doors. I am pulling in the colors with artwork and accessories to brighten the ivory/black early art deco influence.

The only grey is in the youngest daughters room, as she is little Miss Techie, but I did get a rug that varies in tone from orange to maroon so her room does not look like a morgue. I am steering clear of the greys otherwise, as they have been a "thing" for nearly a decade, and will be phasing to the next thing. It seems beiges and greys trade off each decade and the neutral go to. I try to avoid trends, go timeless, and march to the beat of my own style -- unless selling a house, then it will be painted in the go-to color of the time.

It must feel great to leave D.C. behind! Congratulations on the move! I always liked the east side of Texas!
