Everyone knows there's horse-trading going on when determining how to fill a senate seat mid-term. Yes he was crass and didn't use any hearts and flowers to veil what he was doing, but that is how replacements are selected in the big scheme of things. Knowing Blago's temperament, he may have threatened to expose Obama's Chicago bath house activities if they didn't give him what he was asking for. Hell, I don't know. What I DO know is that he messed with the wrong people and they destroyed his life for it. I think his father in law was involved in the railroading too. His FIL is a Chicago councilman, very powerful in Dumbo political circles. He was saying terrible things about Blago in the months leading up to charges being filed. Something happened between them...what kind of father does that to his daughter and grandchildren? The President should not pardon him, but should commute the sentence and free him. Enough is enough. |
