I gotta say, this year's going to be a challenge. Because sometimes it's not as simple as just going into another room, or not showing up at all. These are the types who, no matter what, they are so indoctrinated that there really is no reasoning or reaching them in any way, and it's time to shake the dust off my boots and march on. I have to believe in everything they believe in or they don't want to have anything to do with me. I am willing to meet them half way but no go. It has been a couple decades since we have seen each other. I made my own family and leave them alone because I would have to give up who I am to even speak to them. My family was screwed up long before I set boundaries for myself so I am not surprised this happened. Just be who you are and if you lose the whole family or even part of them then something else will come along that is even better. |
