Melania is a mother first and Donald is a good father so I totally understand where they are both coming from whether they are privileged elitists or not.

Wanting a child to finish their school year in their current school is a sacrifice I've known many others to make. It is not uncommon at all in my area and I am not an elitist and neither are the ones I know who have done it.

THIS. I spent many years working with special needs kids, and it is obvious to me that this is the case. Barron is on the autism spectrum, IMO, and these kids thrive best when they have a set and predictable routine. If this is the case, then he is probably involved in different therapies, and if he is doing well it would be detrimental to him to uproot him and completely upend his normal routine.

I suspected this as soon as I saw Barron for the first time, but it became obvious after seeing the tape of him during his father's victory speech. Being overtired and overstimulated made it more obvious.

I wonder if they will make this public at some point, but if they don't I understand why...it is their personal business, after all. They need to do what is best for their child...

No where in the Constitution does it say where the first family will stay. We are used to the idea of them living in the White house. But there is no legal reason for them to do so.

They are putting their son first. Which should be commended.

From what I read, it didn't say that she wouldn't be moving there at all for the 4 or 8 years.

It said that she didn't want to move him in the middle of a school year. Renovations are also going to be done at the WH after Obama moves out.

A lot of families that transfer with their jobs, let the children finish out the school year before moving them.

Personally, I think they should decide how they want to do things as a family. Moving kids in the middle of the school year is tough on kids, and they just finished a 1 1/2 year campaign as well.

Nothing they choose to do will satisfy the media or a lot of liberals, so they need to play it the way they want to. I'm glad to see that they are putting the needs of their child as a priority.

I think you are worrying needlessly even if this is true. Trump tower is home to the boy and Melania does what she feels best as a mother. Wants his life to be as normal as possible. Yanking him from his home, friends, school is really not in his best interests. If security can be maintained, I don't blame them for not disrupting his world. Trump and Melania are mature enough to handle a weekend marriage. Heck, they handled less than that the whole campaign season!
