I hope that someone can find an old film near Christmas where the Germans and Americans put their guns down and began singing silent night. My dad was there when that happened he said they all went back to their trenches afterwards and held their guns on each other but for that few minutes they came together to sing and to be at peace.

they did that during WWI as well, i think they played soccer? i will have to see if i can find that story again. very few of us actually want war, we really are pretty much the same most of the time, just want to raise families and be left alone
