Sudden destruction shatters the American dream. Jude Cobain leads an improvised army in the subway tunnels of a post-apocalyptic Manhattan island.

Fighting cannibals, disease, nuclear winter, and starvation for six years has left Cobain doubting the worth of his own life. The finer traits of humanity are fading from the group of men surrounding him, and Cobain realizes that mere survival is not enough.

Rachel, a passionate violinist, has been struggling to protect a group of young musicians in the basement of a destroyed school of music on the north part of the island. They are artists, musicians, and fine people; but death is hovering near as the elements close in around them. Rachel sends one of her own to find the famed leader, Cobain, and ask for his protection.

A defected soldier, Moran, leads part of Cobain’s army into rebellion, and then unites the cannibal remnants to fight with him against Cobain.

Battling his way to Rachel through the subway tunnels, Cobain discovers that Humanity is worth every sacrifice; and in saving her, he saves himself.

I've been dreaming about the same events for 30 years - since I was a child. The dreams are similar to seeing scenes cut out of a movie, and I have to piece the events together - and try to figure out the time line.

While I am not certain, the dreams seem to indicate that the rioting and protesting escalates over a period of time. I see in my dreams crowds of 100 thousands protesting, holding signs that say "Communism in California". The crowds are eventually led by Hollywood personalities and big names. The wealthy elite are seen being pressed out of the state while floods of protesters come from all over the USA into the state of CA.

The invasion comes as a complete surprise. The movie script details what little I know from the dreams.

I think (not sure) the state of unrest could potentially last for up to three years from now before the invasion I see in my dreams. And - there could be something that happens in between. At some point there seems to be a devastating earthquake -- I had dream where I40 was under water in Tennessee.

What about the cannibalism? Was that in your dreams... and does it have something with current events anyway?

Cannibalism appeared in a couple of dreams. One in particular that was really sad was about a mother who was starving to death. . . anyway, yeah.

I did have first hand observation of the physical effects of cannibalism many years ago. I lived in a remote village on the island of Papua New Guinea for a couple of years. The sorcerers got power from eating human flesh and blood. They believed they were taking the power of their victim into themselves. I saw six men try to contain one cannibal that had lost his mind. He seemed supernaturally strong.

I think that actually he was not feeling pain, and this made him appear stronger. It was also apparent that after eating human flesh repeatedly, insanity would result. Because I had seen this firsthand, I incorporated it into the screenplay.

Do you think H.G.Well's Time Machine is prophetic? Cannibalism there too. Seems to be a theme lately.

Ummm, let me check my old hard drive. I think I have a few of them there. I've had literally hundreds of dreams on this subject - back in a minute...

H.G. Wells: Don't know. But I agree, the allegory becomes increasingly obvious as we learn more about the "elite."

Here's one dream:

Communism in California/ War

In this dream we were sitting in my parent's living room in Tennessee talking about "the West Coast situation." My Dad said,"I never thought I'd see the day when I'd think Communism is a good idea; but it sounds like it might be a good idea on the West Coast..." He said this with irony, implying, "those people deserve a Communist regime."

In my mind's eye (in the dream) I saw the cities of the West Coast.Thousands upon thousands of people were in the streets protesting, rioting, looting, screaming, and committing acts of violence against a segment of the population. There were demonstration signs and posters bobbing in the crowds that said things like, "WE CHOOSE COMMUNISM" and "COMMUNISM FOR CALIFORNIA" and "COMMUNISM=COMPASSION."

My vision zoomed out and I saw the entire country. Like tiny grains of wheat, I saw decent people trickling out of California, into the mid-west. They were escaping - no, being pressed out - by the mess going on inside. The longer they waited, holding onto their "wealth" the less likely their chance of escape became.

From all over the country, thousands - even millions - of people were pouring like a flood toward the West Coast to join the demonstrations. As the few trickled out, they were replaced by multitudes of screaming, out-of-control demonstrators.

"Like sheep to a slaughter" came to my mind. And I felt a pending doom for the multitude gathering on the West Coast. Communism was the least of their worries, but they did not know it.

War

I dreamed of war again. It was in an arid place, a city. Like maybe LA or Phoenix, I'm not sure. There were mountains in the distance. I dreamed old WWII planes were dropping jello like stuff that burst into flames when it hit the ground. It couldn't be put out. I saw one man getting "splashed" with the stuff as a bomb fell. His whole body was in flames and the fire seemed to have a life of it's own.

It was horrible. Everything was burning. The bombs struck me as being "homemade." The were different sizes, different containers, and even slightly different colors. As if they had been made in a hurry, without much money, in mass.

The planes looked like old US planes, but there were foreign pilots flying them. There was another "bomb" that was a red gooey stuff. It did not explode or burn with flames, but was sort of like acid. It just burned and kept burning holes straight through and anything it touched. It actually made holes in the ground. I remember seeing a child whose hands had been burnt off from
touching the red stuff on the ground.

The planes were dropping the jello-fire bombs between the people and the mountains. From the other direction soldiers were coming and slaughtering everyone in their path. The soldiers were Asian. I remember one old man shouting "It's the Vietnamese!" and knew that he had been in the Vietnam war; he looked like he was about 60 - 70 years old. Others were saying, "no, it's the Chinese!"

It was clear to me that the attack was unexpected and nobody really knew WHO was attacking us or why. The American Air Force seemed to be gone. But I didn't expect to see them either, in the dream. I hoped for help, but didn't expect it.

The soldiers were like a wall, pressing us into the inferno. Most people fled toward the soldiers and away from the flames. They seemed to believe there was hope in the city, and were afraid of burning.

I knew that the only hope was to run into the flames, to try and get through them and into the mountains and wilderness on the other side. The soldiers would slaughter anyone who remained.

The burning was awful; and the smell... It was a nightmare of death and terror. I don't think I was "myself" in the dream. I think I was someone else. I hope I don't experience this event. So many people are going to die on that day.

War in the Northeast

I dreamed about a city in the North-Eastern states. It was a mountainous area, covered with tall pines. The city was on the slope of a mountain. It had been attacked by ground troops and tanks of white, but foreign, soldiers.

It was Autumn, before the first snow, but chilly. There were bright maple leaves on the ground behind the building I dreamed about. The building was the strongest and most defensible in the whole city, made of stone. It was square, old, had a basement, overlooked the city and the main street, and was a high school.

I "knew" that the enemy wanted to set up operations in this building. The rest of the city had been destroyed more or less, and I didn't see any people or automobiles. I wondered if they had fled into the woods, or if they were dead?

The building I was in was full of young people about 17 - 18 years of age.

I entered the dream after the battle was over, and the tanks were sitting or moving around the city, south of the building.

There was a man in the building that took charge. He seemed "military" to me in aspect, but was not dressed military. He also seemed to know what the enemy wanted, and that the building was defensible. He felt that everyone had a better chance to live if they could wait out the enemy and keep the building. He also wanted to "keep the city" and staying in the building was his strategy for doing this. Snow was coming, and the mountains were not a likely place to survive.

The kids were a wide variety of absolutely foolish, belligerent idiots, and mature, capable "soldiers" with every kind in between.

I saw several scenes that included a few kids being slapped into submission by the man, a few teachers threatened into submission, a door being broken down because 4 teens had barricaded themselves in the room to have sex, and another kid getting shot by a sniper when he went outside.

The man had ordered the food to be stockpiled in a central area where everybody had congregated, He ordered some of the food in five gallon buckets to be dumped out and the buckets used as latrines. At first he had a few boys taking the buckets out a back door that was low and hidden against the hillside, to dump out, but one of them was killed by a sniper and the strategy changed to dumping the buckets in a small, lower basement room, that had an entrance that could possibly be breached by the outside.

I saw the man telling the kids that the enemy had the weather and time against them, but that they (the kids) had each other to contend with. And the key to survival was going to be cooperation, obedience, and self-control. After the first two days, most of the nonsense had been quelled. A few kids had snuck out and run away. Others had retreated into shock or silence. And many had come forward to be adults, able to help and organize into a surprisingly effective little army.

I saw the man hand out some guns he had gotten from outside the school to certain boys. He refused to give one to an eager Gamer. He called the boys by military "titles" and structured his new army military style. I began to have hope for their survival. He told the boys to sleep with their guns, and never let go of them or lay their weapon down. He said that the people around them, their very friends, were potential enemies that could take their gun and shoot them with it.

Meanwhile the building was under some attack, through windows, doors. But the walls were thick and any approach by the enemy was warded off by the young army shooting at them.

They only had to make it a few days, and the heavy snow and cold would work for them.

I woke up while they were still in these circumstances.

I respect writers though. Especially after 5 years in college. Not trying to be mean but

You know, there are a lot of great writers who cannot tell a good story. Good stories come from real experience... so that makes telling stories about the future especially difficult. Difficult to make them believable. Even for me.

Anyway, take it how you will.

Many years ago I had a terrifying dream that the earth was being bombarded be meteors. Sounds stupid enough but it was absolutely terrifying for some reason. I would up scared, and a dream every night -good and bad. I think what really freaked me out tho is I woke up in the middle of time newscast in my dream that was talking T about it.

What was weird tho is I woke up and didn't know if it had happened or not. I turned on the tv and it was where I left off on the dream. I still don't know if when I woke up it was still dreaming or what was happening. It still seems like I woke up and Colorado springs had between destroyed. Weird stuff
