UK. Pension age to rise again | |
ThisWayUp (OP) User ID: 71922918 United Kingdom 11/28/2016 03:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The government may be raising the state retirement age to 70. Documents produced by the department of works and pension suggest a "more aggressive" rise in the timetable than previously planned. This could affect millions of workers under the age of 55. Quoting: ThisWayUp [link to www.theguardian.com (secure)] These pigs in Parliament want us to work until we take our very last breath. or they want you to start paying in to a private pension and start making provision for yourself this is aimed at the 45-55 who realistically knew they 15-20 + years of work left anyway maybe instead of feeling like a victim and crying it's not fair , people could start making provisions for themselves and take control of their own fate in that respect start acknowledging the reality of their and their children's financial future if they don't instead of oh poor me ? is that so unreasonable ? I've been paying into a private pension since 1993. Even if I didn't pay into a pension scheme, the government brought in auto enrolment in 2012 ? so it was and has been made compulsory to have a works pension. If you don't have a works pension then the government deduct money from your wages to join the government pension. I'm rather vague on details. I fit in the age bracket, I'm 48. I'm not feeling like the victim nor am I even crying and where did I mention it's not fair? For the record smart arse...... I won't be alive when when I reach pension age, in fact I won't be alive for very long, my transplant is failing. Shame on me for being unreasonable but thanks for your wise words *rolls eyes* |
