Lol...Trump is FAR from being incapacitated. In fact compared to Trump all the other politicians could be considered incapacitated.

It isn't a fantasy - of the two options i would prefer Trump - because he is a transformer - robot in disguise - and i don't like - treachery; I just feel if there is cause for awareness subject to for example pussygate - then we need to be eyes and ears wide open people.

Maybe in the UK (where there are no real men) something like your theory could occur. In America, (where we have refused to give up our rights to self defense and have firearms) politicians know better.

Yes but they tried to get rid of him already by leaking stuff - so maybe people should voice their concerns against this type of treachery - so those dudes know up front how upset people would be.

the 25th was created for very specific reasons

i appreciate the post, but they will have to find another way to dump trump

i would venture that a VP trying to abuse this law could be subject to serious criminal charges

Ohhhhh you mean that if Pence did that - the people would sign a petition - but that would be against the Constitution - and if one aspect of the Constitution can be overturned by public petition then that would leave the rest of it open to the same.

But the op-ed had this to say about invoking the 25th:

Given the instability many witnessed, there were early whispers within the cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment, which would start a complex process for removing the president, but no one wanted to precipitate a constitutional crisis. So we will do what we can to steer the administration in the right direction until — one way or another — it’s over.

Just saying - I mean they tried to get rid of him already and failed.
 Quoting: redhouserebel

You write these things as if they would all occur in a vacuum; that the American people would simply sit-idly-by and allow it to happen. In my opinion, we would not.

Trump is the duly elected President. Unless he commits "high crimes and misdemeanors" while in office, he cannot be impeached. To use the Provisions of the 25th Amendment for what you describe would be odious, and would beget a response by the American People of a type that the government would not be accustomed.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64955879

I didn't imagine for one minute that Trump's supporters would be impressed - I am simply relating the possibility.

Something being odious does not prohibit its happening.
 Quoting: redhouserebel

The day that President Trump is impeached, will be the day that American officially ends.

Yes...

"Section 4.

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President."

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73505084

and is this bit

is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office,

not open to interpretation of any kind?

agent

Because if the vice president felt he was there for personal gain and was committing misdemeanours - he might feel that he was in fact unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office...

??

And all he would have to do was say so - submit the letter and other evidence or whatever - and then if trump refuted this but the vote upheld it - he would be gone - no?
 Quoting: redhouserebel

I am pretty sure there are people already saying that Trump has some psychiatric problems also - they might go from that angle...

No???
 Quoting: redhouserebel

They were saying all this before Donald Trump was even inaugurated. The Leftists are sore losers that refuse to accept that Donald Trump WON the presidential election of 2016. And that is all this is. A refusal to accept the 2016 election.

Stop Talking About the 25th Amendment. It Won’t Work on Trump.

And it might just set off a constitutional crisis.

If it couldn't get rid of Obama, it can't get rid of anybody.
 Quoting: Deplorable dollop

I don't think Obama's vice president - sorry don't know who that is - ever tried to invoke section 4... ?

If it was invoked with Trump - and if there was a silent republican revolution planned against him - then I think they now have the numbers they would need for the vote.

Not sure how it all works.

Some have forgotten the Pence/Ryan treacherous attempt to take over Trump's rising campaign and replace him during the primary.

If I were him and someone tried that on me, I would be plotting to get rid of their asses in any way possible. Wishing the very worst on Pence, Ryan & all who had a part in that fiasco. Fuck all of those SOBs.
