Yes, we mature from participating. Many in prayer have come up with solutions. Jesus executes it and provides the intervention based on those prayers.
It's better understood when you understand that humanity is looked at as a single sovereign entity and we need to participate directly in our destiny. Enough people have to stand up and take action in one form or another and then there is Divine Intervention to exectute our will.

Another way of looking at it that I know to be true is that Spirit places the ideas and prayers in us and then we act it out in Faith.  You mentioned that there is Divine Intervention to execute "our will." This is erroneous as it's HIS will be done as it states in Matthew 6:10. - RML Yes, however our will and His will can match up. This is why I said that our prayers or our will is sifted first.
