I was born baptist converted catholic and now think all of it is bs but still believe in God, greater good, and the battle here being spiritual.. I gained all of my beliefs from my experiences and science research, not from old books tainted by old men.

I'd never allow abuse to happen without trying to do something about it, even if I could only do something small, especially for a child? Try and consider not blaming just everyone, not EVERYONE knew things like this were happening, you know. It might have felt that way if you were ritually abused in some sort of niche societal circle but I promise most people did NOT know. Many would have died to help you if they had.
