I used to fly in from all over the world to see my family on holidays (retired military). In the 20 years I spent in the Corps I lost 4 loved ones while I was away (Father, Aunt, 1st Cousin, Grandmother). Don't take anytime that you have to spend with loved ones for granted, they may not be there next year.. Quoting: C*I*R You do have a point, damn it. |

Quoting: stellanexus I am leaning towards staying home instead of traveling to their family with the kids. Anyone else deciding on staying home and snubbing family? Stay home and establish your own family memories with your kids in their house Kids deserve to wake up up Christmas morning in their own beds and go open presents by their own tree and build their own family memories. There is something magic about the house where christmas morning happens. It should be your house. Visit family the day after Did your SO grow up being dragged 3 hours to grandmas for christmas ?
