I'm old enough to remember when this came up before and E.Wa and some of OR and ID were going to be called "Lincoln".

Yes the whole state is run by one county.

Unfortunately Kings influence also runs into Snohomish and Pierce.

I would love to see a split from the west side, because the east side doesn't get the funding like it should for road services and the like. We are under represented and take a back seat to coastal areas. Of course, the libs rule there too.

It would be more realistic for Idaho to pick up the east side rather than create a new state.

In a state-wide election in Washington - all you have to do is win King, Pierce and Snohomish counties ( all located on the west side of course). That's it 3 out of 35 counties and you win - you don't even have to acknowledge the east side of the state!

A State must ask permission of the Federal Government to become a State. With that said, A State is a corporation subordinate to the Federal Corporation.

Find the Enabling Act to crate Washington State.
Read the conditions to allow the Territory to become Washington State.
I am sure that Washington State has no provision to split.
Nothing could happen until Congress allowed it.
I think it was Nevada that changed its Constitution to absorb all the Federal Territory within its borders. It is sitting in limbo until Congress gives permission.

That guy is just trying to get votes for his next election or he is an idiot and refuses to read the Washington State founding documents and laws.
