Nearly 150 staff at American Apparel are facing a nightmare before Christmas after the US fashion chain's administrators pulled down the shutters on 12 UK stores.

A total of 147 employees have been made redundant, with only the Camden High Street store remaining open.

American Apparel stores in London's Carnaby Street, Covent Garden and Oxford Street will all cease trading as 12 out the companies' 13 UK outlets are closed.

Maybe if American Apparel was supplied with clothes made in the USA their might be an incentive to buy it. As it stands, all branded goods are mass produced shite that we shipped off to impoverished nations as the industrial era came in.

Pretty much, it is all garbage. Heck, more often then not, the no name, low cost clothing, lasts longer then the name brand, expensive clothing.

An observation I made once over the years: The more you pay for shoe's, the quicker they will deteriorate. Bought a pair of(forget the name, luger or something like that) expensive, name brand shoes, lasted like 3-4 months.

Bought a pair of cheap shoes from wally world, lasted over a year.

High end, survival type boots/shoes though, are a different story. Even a decent pair of leather shoes are a different story.

This observation, is limited to sneakers, really.
