Quoting: #Geomagnetic_Storm# This storm will be warm in nature and will possibly bring snow levels over 10,000 feet which would trigger massive amounts of snow melts and potentially deadly flooding downstream. Creeks are already near stage level with the recent storm last night and anymore heavy precipitation will likely trigger Creek levels above flood stage for multiple areas of California. Expect very strong Southerly Winds and Heavy rain Saturday-Monday with potential for life threatening flooding if current forecasts hold. When this storm is done, this would be a huge drought buster. GFS 7 day total rainfall in inches: [link to www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov] Hard to tell from a still image, and no article, but seems it will miss San Diego for the most part. |

Particularly among those meteorologists - the ones so smugly confident about the theory of manmade global warming - who predicted that last year's large El Nino would cause massive amounts of rain to fall on southern California. So what occurred in late 2015, early 2016? Drier than normal in the lower half of California. Planet Earth perhaps isn't a libtard. |

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. I am worried about the flooding since it may mean I will not be able to leave my property due to unusable roads. In southern Butte County at the eastern edge of the valley. aka Runoff City. The last pineapple express left us flooded in without power for 5 days. Bring it. I've been married so long, I don't even look both ways when I cross the street. |

Ha...Ha...Ha... Last I heard the Hoover Dam was in its 17th year of diminishing reserves? You think One (1) rainstorm is going to replace 17 years of failed rainfall? Better think again... I'm glad for KaliPornia getting some rain, but no matter how "Biblical" this storm is, it is not likely to recover from 17 years of drought with one storm? ? Sometimes we refer to the Pineapple Express is as rivers in the sky. Quoting: samanthasunflower Not to be snarky, but I've lived on the west coast my entire life and I've never heard of anyone refer to it as that. Anyhow, just for anyone's information, the news said that the reservoirs in Northern California have already started releasing water. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73276258 City trash make a big deal over it. Aw come on, you have to admit this is more rain than normal. In fact, I read earlier today that the weather forecasters were expecting the entire normal amount of January rainfall in this one storm. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73727613 It would, but because of Eco-liberal politics that have stopped construction of reservoirs, all but 20 % goes right back out to sea. Anyhow, just for anyone's information, the news said that the reservoirs in Northern California have already started releasing water. The weathermen call it that here in the inland northwest. Probably you don't hear it on the coast because it hits California and drenches it, and then swings inland. One hit us several years ago in the Inland NW and I was astounded at the water that fell. The last one I remember went more over Arizona and eastward. *** Good deeds bring rewards, bad actions bring troubles. That is a law of the universe. *** |
