Hey GLP preppers. Could you recommend a good knife sharpener?
I have looked around and it seems that it's hard to find a decent knife sharpener. I'm asking the experienced one's who are happy with what they have that works for them that sharpens knives. Thx in advance.

Re: Hey GLP preppers. Could you recommend a good knife sharpener?
no such thing as a good knife sharpener.

what you need to do is "hone" your sharpening skill

Get a bunch of cheap used knives.

Grab a cheap stone or three. fine, medium and a course. soak stones in water. keep them wet. tune up YouTube. Get to practicing.

Once you have the stone skill move to diamond or ceramic.

Stropping keeps a nice final edge. personally I do not like stropping.

YouTube search "whittle on a stick" Mr Collins does a fine job instructing on proper sharpening.

I use 3 DMT diamond bench stones. These...

And then I follow up with a spyderco ceramic bench stone if I want it really sharp.

Thousands of gimmicks out there that cost lots of money.

Just get a good stone and learn the basics.

Wow. Those do look like they will do the job but a bit pricey. But if they last a life time then why not.

There really isn't. I've tried many of them and nothing beats a decent stone and good technique. That's if you want a true edge and not just a quickie flawed edge.
