Marijuana Successfully Treats Autism--Who would take this away?
Many people on GLP seem to think the only reason to legalize cannabis is so people can get stoned and be "lazy". That's so short sighted and foolish that it defies logic. And yet it seems about once a week someone puts up some thread calling those who use cannabis or are for full decriminalization "hippy stoner useless pot heads" or some variant.

Here is an excerpt from an article about parents with a very violent autistic son who have successfully treated his autism with cannabis.

Medical marijuana for autism

Recently, however, anecdotal evidence has stirred interest in a new form of treatment for autism. Parents and researchers do not know why, but medical marijuana in the form of cannabis cookies or tinctured oils appears to calm autistic kids down and improve their behavior.

Needless to say, giving pot to grade school age kids is controversial, but listening to parent stories is likely to make you a lot more sympathetic. For example, Marie Myung-Ok Lee’s nine-year old son is a case in point. His behaviors included violent rages — sometimes as many as 300 a day — where he would literally eat his clothes, bang his head against walls or tables, and scratch others.

None of the conventional treatment options appeared to work. Finally, psychiatrists recommended a drug called Risperdal, which entails severe side effects such as tremors, extreme weight gain and elevated insulin levels. Once again, success rates for this medication were not impressive. In addition, many adults with autism taking it describe the drug as a “chemical lobotomy.” So, Marie and her husband decided to pass on Risperdal and try something else they read about — cannabis

What I want to know is this:

What kind of person thinks they would be justified in impeding a parent from helping their child outside of the law? Who is so arrogant that they can pretend they have the authority to prevent the use of a plant in helping people with what ails them or their loved ones?

I am for complete and total decriminalization of cannabis and believe that what children consume is in the purview of their parents-NOT a doctor or the state. You?

Cannabis oil is great. Smoking weed is not so good for you though. Wish everyone would see the difference. Cannabis oil should be a staple in the medical profession. stoner

I've seen it work first hand. It would seem crazy to a person that is too indocrinated and knows little about cannabis, but I know it works. CBD can revolutionize the disease industry and they know it. They have known it for far too long, actually. I'm happy to know that this plant is helping more and more people. If greed ceased to exist, CBD would be one of the first lines of treatment for mental problems worldwide.

Right. But the pharmaceutical and prison cartels would lose their market share if people were simply allowed unimpeded access to something that sure looks like it was designed by the Creator for our benefit. Those who are greedy just can't let people have quality of life.

The child in the article has many health problems.

The marijuana didn't make his problems disappear. The parents said it reduced the frequency of his symptoms.

You are lying when you say "marijuana successfully treats autism". And lying is what drug addicts do.

There are just a few rules that drug addicts live by :

- Nothing is more important than getting the drug and taking the drug.

- No one is more important than getting the drug and taking the drug.

- Anything you do that gets you the drug is right. Anything.

Any lie, any trick, any manipulation, any con game that gets you the drug is right and good. Including using a child to trick and manipulate people.

This is the reason Citizens need to take back control of THEIR LIVES and Family & Friends who may not be able to voice their opinion because of this EVIL PRACTICE to hobble children's minds.

I am 65 yrs. old, at age 38 was tested by World known Dr. Harold Levinson, Great Neck, NY. Who sadly informed me, " you are the Worst we have ever tested.." Sadder yet was fact I am high IQ and no one caught it in school.

I live in World that is basically upside down / backwards to point of getting severe motion sickness by just walking about. This condition has forced me to try everything possible to get any relief, IT IS NOT JUST A READING PROBLEM. My findings have been that 'eating' .certain types of Cannabis Sativa or Indica.
Have helped correct this condition better than anything and especially in combination with stimulant/motion sickness med.

Since this system 'failed me' terribly until using my own research skills, I speak from experience THAT OUR FDA, Dea, etc.are untruthful on this subject matter 100%. If the truth was to be told, everyone WOULD BENEFIT FROM THIS WONDER Plant..

Do you think that people who advocate for supplements are also dumb asses? Evidence of supplements helping people are largely anecdotal as well. And B vitamins can really give you a jolt of energy. Do you actually have a grasp of what "anecdotal" means?

Cannabis Oil and Hemp have been suppressed for over a hundred years.
We all know it is to protect billionaires pharma and chemical empires.

You will never get "permission" to exploit cannabis oil and hemp to its fullest until maybe now with Trump in power.

B vitamins do not "give you a jolt of energy".

Science has proved that vitamins are essential for life and health. Science has yet to prove that marijuana is good for anything.

You are exposing your ignorance. You won't actually answer questions, just make assertions. That's the hallmark of the intellectually dishonest.

You don't know a thing about the endocannabinoid system. Neither does "science", really. The establishment that you worship only discovered this system in our brains in 1992, and they are still trying to figure it out. What they KNOW is cannabis fully lines up and creates complimentary keys in this system- and nothing else matches up so completely. Despite your resistance, YOU were designed to ingest this in some way.

"Science" disputed the efficacy of vitamin C in improving the immune system and fighting off the common cold for THIRTY years. All evidence of supplements being helpful is ANECDOTAL.

There are enormous amounts of studies showing the efficacy of cannabis on ailments, but the powers that shouldn't be are so invested in their control paradigm that they keep trying to brainwash those who will not search for the truth about one of the biggest lies sold to the average American.

Do some research and try to actually substantiate your opinion on something other than your "feelings".
Things are bad enough, there is no need to make anything up. ~Fluffy

Re: Marijuana Successfully Treats Autism--Who would take this away?

You?

I didn't check the link yet but does it have the same effect with autistic adults?! I have a severely autistic brother-in-law.

The only difference would be the dosage.

Try it! It can only help.hf
