If the IRS found nothing wrong in their audit of him, then why release them?

I'm confident that 'certain parties' in congress will arrange to let us know if the IRS finds any serious irregularities.

If you were in politics, you're going to structure your finances in such a way that your tax return looks a certain way. If you were a lifelong politician, you'd hide stuff in blind trusts so it would never show up in your tax records.

If you were a lifetime politician, you’re gonna do everything in your life to pass muster if it’s exposed to the public, including your tax return, which in politics it is because the tradition is that candidates release them.

Trump is not a Politician. That's part of his appeal.

Well, I was fine with "they're under audit so I'm waiting" but now "no fuck you, you are forced to do it but I don't have to" attitude is pretty ghey.

Some people here can't accept any Trump negativity as if they have an agreement with themselves not to re-neg on their commitment.

Fair enough, but when I voted for him I agreed to myself that I would, as any other US president before, review his decisions without any subjectiveness.

Anyone here who thinks it's "GREAT!!!!" that he isn't going to release his tax returns are kind-of drinking the koolaid a little too hard IMHO.

I couldn't care less what teams of accountants and lawyers have to say about Donald Trump's taxes.

I care about what the government does with the taxes it robs from the American people.

On the other hand, it's definitely worth giving him a year or two so we can see what all of this is building up to.

This is my position as well. I don't care about his tax records, only what he does. If he said he would never release them and didn't, that would be fine with me. However, I'm disturbed that he said he WOULD release his tax records and now he actually won't. I don't want him to lie to me like other politicians. It's just not acceptable.

I seem to recall the Clintons released their tax records and then later they had to correct it because it had so many mistakes, ooops, yeah I bet ooops. my vote is for fixing the Country , and his tax records do not do that for the country, so lest stop wasting time and lets get the healing of our nation going. my opinions on this matter

Perhaps a compromise could be made with some redacted portions with an explanation for the redactions. Or an explanation from our president explaining that, given the dishonest media, the twisting of the truth would preoccupy the news for months and significantly harm the progress of the mandate for positive change he was elected to make. Also, links to his candidate financial filings, and explaining their relatively complete picture of his income and assets could be emphasized.

His past tax records? No. They are private and money earned from private business.

His tax records or financial statements while in office? Yes, but if not required by law, not much can be done.

I'd like to see all of Obummers records he had sealed, like college admissions and such, but we were told to shove it.

Trump needs to say Hillary didn't release her deleted emails so my past tax records stay sealed. Unless Obummer unseals all his records from college, selective service, etc., then I will make an exception on my tax return.
