but also... anime has got a lot worse. Really. The 80s and 90s were so good for anime... Now... not really. Even late 70s... Mostly trash nowadays.

I understand that even the people WHO HAD a sense of style in one area, always lack it in most other areas... Maybe this is similar? "enjoying GLP" or at least... spiritual stuff... is "one area to be good in"... and so they just flop out on every other area :)
