Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69308990 Do not attempt repairs if you are not certified to do so. Written like the average control freak. This world is put together by smart monkeys with two eyes, two hands, and a working brain. If somebody else did it, so can you. You just need to look carefully what might happen and don't do anything stupid. And, if you do something stupid and get hurt don't blame anyone other than yourself. We have too many laws already aimed at protecting people from their own stupid errors. ISSUE MORE DARWIN AWARDS! |

For instance, would you attempt to disarm a land mine without significant training? Even demolition specialists err sometimes. However, utility equipment repair is within the capabilities of people of average intelligence. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69308990 Do not attempt repairs if you are not certified to do so. A natty looking uniform and a certificate are no guarantee of proficiency. Incidentally “Servicable” is spelled serviceable – did you bribe anyone to get your certification? Question for other viewers of this thread; “Have you ever been ripped off by a “certified” technician?” |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69308990 Do not attempt repairs if you are not certified to do so. Just like two weeks ago, my microwave quit working. It had a sticker on the back that said that. It also had those security torx screws in it, but I knew from past experience there is a fuse in there. Bought the security bit set for $5.99, took the thing apart and low and behold, there was a ceramic fuse in there. 20A, 250V fuse was $2.00. Put new one in there and viola, it works again. $8.00 fix and most people would have just thrown it out and bought a new one, or called a repairman. Anonymous Coward User ID: 69308990 United States 01/28/2017 12:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I fixed my 700$ ozone unit, finally, after many attempts. It has not worked for years. I found online about a little fuse on the board. Bypassed it with a copper wire. Saved me a lot of money and now my old house smells nice and clean instead of smelling like the old wood stove. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73858419 Now you get to breathe in harmful ions again -- doesn't matter though, soon your house will burn down when that thing catches fire ... People like this are why they have that warning label ... |

I concur with Gas Man; remove the jumper and insert the proper fuse. Next step is - if the fuse blows again - search for the reason why it blows. Don't be the winner of the next Darwin award. |
