For me it wasn't even a media/tv memory.

I clearly remember Thanksgiving always being the 3rd Thursday in November. Always. Now its the 4th Thursday. My mother and I planned every year around it. It's suddenly different.

And I agree with the premise of this thread. I was taking to my husband and said "Do you remember the Disney into with Tinkerbell.. " and he finished with "She ended by dotting the i".

So this was a surprise for both of us.

I remember Tinkerbell wrote out the Disney word and put a dot on the I. I remember it from the TV Series, the Wonderful World of Disney which used to Air on Sunday nights when I was a kid. But that was a long time ago.

I remember the tinkerbell from 1970s - early 80s Disney Shows and i remember the Born USA Album cover was "a red Mechanic type oil rag" for others it was a standard red handkerchief (hankerchief) not a red baseball hat.

Bruce was never my fav performer but jinkies I like the song "im on fire"...years later it almost gave me the creeps but I felt that the use of "little girl" was artistic more than anything else....

And that you see is what makes a Mandela effect.

It's not the memory itself, it's the web of all the associated memories which no no longer make any sense.

It's also the fact that the exact 'now false' memory is also shared with a multitude of geographically disconnected people.

Sure you can misremember one thing - but then why should many associated memories no longer make sense??

Example.. when I was 13, at school I had a friend who was going through tough times and was sitting on a small wall, with his fist clenched against his forehead.

We joked about him, calling him the thinker. We knew what the thinker looked like, we had studied it in art classes.

Myself, the 'thinker' friend and 3 other people remember this quite vividly.

The memory makes no sense anymore since the thinker's hand touches the chin.
