MSN in the dark, but NATO planning deployment of 5 divisions to Poland & Baltics
The information is leaking out in dribs and drabs and is available if you know where to look for it. Word is spreading, honestly not sure why the media haven't picked up yet. Planning exercises have been underway since last year and will continue through March. Why do you think they've been positioning stores and btigade HQs im Europe and practicing moving formations east?

Here's some info to get you started. The deployment itself will happen under the guise of Operation Arrcade Fusion 17. The UK's contribution to this Corps level operation will be one warfighting division, 3 (UK) Division, 20,000 troops supplemented with 10,000 troops from the Reserves.

Other 4 divisions will presumably be American, but may have token German and French representation. On deployment, Poland's 3 divisions will come under NATO command, as will 11 Baltic battalions. Sweden may also be represented at a brigade level.

I'll keep this thread updated as we find more. It's too big to hide. They won't destroy the world in our name.

Not enough detail for you? Okay.

High level planning for the operation began in earnest last year during Exercise Trident Junction. In that command exercise they wargammed a hypothetical 'Red Force' invasion of the Baltics with 25 brigades and regiments, airborne, tank and mechanized. The wargame ended with a counter-attack with over 200,000 troops, with high intensity fighting lasting 21 days and ending in NATO victory in 3 out of 5 run-throughs. In the other 2, the enemy resorted to nuclear weapons.

There is no way in hell that Trump is putting 4 divisions on Russia's border

For one thing that is half our fucking army.

For another it is provocative.

5 divisions is a lot these days.

I could see setting up ghost divisions where a hollow corps is set up with command and control infrastructure and some equipment ( some field guns, hospital, some dozers and trucks, etc). But there'd be no to little actual fighting capacity, just the ability to rapidly bring troops into the area.

If you can't see Russia wants the Baltics back you are blind. The three countries are in between Russia and their port base to the west. Also Poland they would love back.

But most of all -- this is diversion -- Russia wants Ukraine back. Watch and wait and see.

These plans were drawn up under the previous administration. Does Trump even know yet? The Pentagon does, Merkel does. But has Trump been briefed?
