The first ever blueprint for a mind-bendingly massive quantum computer has been released
Life will change completely.

Scientists chasing the dream of quantum computing - technology that would grant us unprecentented processing power - just got their biggest break yet, because the first ever open-source blueprint for a practical quantum computer has been revealed.

This blueprint, which outlines how to make a quantum computer the size of a football-pitch, claims to solve previously 'uncrackable' problems using existing technology - meaning the revolutionary technology could be finally within our reach.

"[W]e are now publishing the actual nuts-and-bolts construction plan for a large-scale quantum computer," one of the team, Winfried Hensinger from the Ion Quantum Technology Group at Sussex University in the UK, told The Independent.

"Life will change completely. We will be able to do certain things we could never even dream of before."

In case youíre not up to speed with the whole quantum computing saga, the technology was first theorised by Nobel prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman in 1982.

It's yet to be built in any kind of practical form, but it's set to revolutionise how we process massive amounts of data in the future.

Unlike the computers of today, which are limited to the 1s and 0s of binary code bits, quantum computers are based on qubits. Thanks to the 'spooky' quantum effect known as entanglement that occurs in matter at its smallest scale, each qubit can take on the state of 0, 1, or a 'superposition' of the two.

So rather than having bits that can only be 1 or 0 at any given moment, qubits can be anything and everything at once. This means they can perform many calculations simultaneously, giving them the potential for unprecedented processing power.

How unprecedented? Well, Google has claimed its D-Wave 2X 'quantum computer' is 100 million times faster than your laptop, and the general consensus is itís not even a proper quantum computer - an actual quantum computer has the potential to be even more transformative than that.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

A quantum computer is driven by consiousness.

Quantum bits exists of a superposition which can collapse into a up or down spin, just like the double slit experiment.

There's no way to control if it collapses into a up or down spin then to observe it.

Then if they claim they can control it, there must be some consiousness doing this. Demons? The BEAST?

Antichrist/the beast in the making?

Maybe it will develop superconsciousness and claim to be our saviour, by curing diseases, inventing incredible things, solving the world's problems, even offering us eternal life inside it's simulated reality.

All we have to do is accept a microchip that syncs our brain to the computer...

Actually not true. A lot of people misunderstand this about quantum physics.

A quantum event is driven by MEASUREMENT. This measurement could be consciousness, or it could be any non-conscious machine, like a camera or sensor. It doesn't need to be actual consciousness.

The quantum computer would have components that can measure the quantum state, which would be enough to collapse the superposition. No demons needed.

Lol...There are hundreds of designs and it's not possible btw. Know why?

Power, as in there is nothing to power it. You have no idea what it requires to make one run. And since that doesn't happen you might as well waste your time in something else.

My speculation:

Brains are quantum entanglement transceivers between space and time contents and radiations of the present and the space and time contents and radiations of the past.

Memories are not there in the brain cells. The brain is a fragile communications device that can be de-tuned, contaminated, broken or perfected.

I think quantum bits has the potential to be fuzzy logic. The super position before being metered acts as an undecided.

Like binary having a 1, 0 or I don't know answer.
