It doesn't look like a satire site. It has a history of being an AltNews website from the UK.

That site does delve into aliens and other conspiracies though.

Typically, whoever is in charge of that politician's/proxy's domain (his boss or committee) will appoint a temporary replacement if that bug gets squashed.

If he was an appointed stooge, then the replacement might be permanent. If he was an elected official, there will be a new election for his job.
