Re: Biblical Help Needed! Will there be a Rapture?
I was brought up and raised on believe that we will have a rapture, God will come get his children to save them from the last days to protect us. It was brought to my attention today, that several people believe there will be a rapture, while others do not, SO WHICH IS IT?
 Quoting: CrimsonTideGirl

Yes, the rapture is 2,595 days after the start of the tribulation period. Basically 7 years + 40 days later.

It is 40 days into the Day of the Lord, the 1 year period where God pours out his wrath on the earth after the 7 year tribulation period. We are taken to haven to have the gamos, the wedding and are up there from Rev 16:14 to Rev 19:11 then we return to earth to finish off the armies fighting against God and then rule in the millennium. The timing is shown in this thread in the first few posts.

Thread: Rapture Harpazo is 40 days into the Day of the Lord.

Do not be fooled by the likes of Hagee and LeHaye. Felix Unger financed a seedy character named Scofield to get the people to believe this Babylonian mess.
Jesus said four times in John chapter 6 that He will raise His people on the last day- not the last day minus 31/2 years..or the last day minus 6 years. Jesus prayed His people are not taken out of this world [John 17:5]. In Psalm 91 the believer is still here if he can say thousands die by his side.
The born again are the Israel of God..they are the Chosen.."chosen before the worlds began."[John 15:16, Eph 1:4, 1 Peter 1:20]

The Babylonian who financed Cyrus Scofield was Samuel Untermeyer not Felix Unger. Unger was a teacher at the Dallas Theological Seminary, whose writings Lindsay stole to produce The Late Great Planet Earth. The Dallas Theological Seminary was founded by the chief disciples of Scofield and Lindsay's book spread the heresy far and wide.

Jesus said:

Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.

Therefore it is reasonable to expect that some will be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen and to stand before Jesus Christ, is it not?

Lots of good responses on this thread. NO, there is no rapture. look at what scripture says.

Jesus says when He is returning don't believe anyone else.

God set TIME up for MAN. God exists outside of time. For the dead time has no meaning.

Tupac-TN

2 Timothy 2:15King James Version (KJV)

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Colossians 2
8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Matthew 24
26Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Ecclesiastes 3
11He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

12I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. 13And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. 14I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. 15That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

John 3
5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Hebrews 9
27And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

1 Thessalonians 4:14-1621st Century King James Version (KJ21)

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so will God bring with Him those also who sleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord: that we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who are asleep.
16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first

Re: Biblical Help Needed! Will there be a Rapture?
There is a rapture. It's mentioned in the bible. It isn't pre-tribulation though, it is pre-wrath. There is a big difference.

The rapture won't happen until the man of sin is revealed. Only those with wisdom can calculate his number. Wisdom comes from God.

No rapture, no second coming.

If you read what Jesus taught and how he taught, you'd know that.

And what he taught was that, you must turn within and ask the Father for guidance. In short, desiring revelations from him. So that he awaken your mind, renewing it, so that it can begin the process of transformation, into a new creature. Born again of the spirit(mind), out of the flesh/soul(subconscious) controlled mind which is of the Earth, Lucifer's creation.

God is a spirit, so within in spirit you must worship him, i.e Once you receive revelations from him, you begin to do his WILL, which is what makes you one of his children.

At death, Jesus returns in the spirit, and takes you to where he resides, from where we were originally from, before we were cast out.

Rapture is a man made doctrine, and all man made Doctrines are of Satan, since he created this place and rules it, and the people here via his creation, the Soul(subconscious). He is the Lord God, of the dead. Whereas The Father, is the God of the living..

Re: Biblical Help Needed! Will there be a Rapture?
Just study Jewish marriage traditions. Jewish people stick to their traditions.

The son builds a room for his bride and himself on his father's property.

When friends ask, when will you go get your bride? He says I don't know, only my father knows. Then when the father finally tells his son to go get his bride, he travels to get her and her wedding party.

The bride has no idea when he will come, so they must always be ready with oil in their lamps.

He son and his friends get the bride and her friends and the couple stay safe in their wedding chamber at the father's house for seven days.

It's so beautiful and just like Jesus to love and protect us. Do not lose hope, do not let them get you down, keep the faith.

The rapture as you know it was a money making scheme. The rich romans would confess their sins to a man in a private booth, and then "tithe" to avoid punishments

what a joke the catholic church is.

I am not Catholic, I have never ever study that religion. I don't understand why they ask forgiveness from a priest vs Jesus himself.
 Quoting: CrimsonTideGirl

The Catholic Church has never endorsed Rapture theology. The notion of
a "rapture" was an 1830 invention by one John Nelson Darby, an ex-Anglican (not a Jesuit and not Catholic at all) who misinterpreted 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Saint Peter and all the other apostles, and all of their priest successors, were given the power by Christ Himself to forgive sins in His name.
John 20: 21-23

The Catholic (meaning universal) Church was founded in 33A.D.by Jesus Christ, who placed St.Peter authority over the Church its first Pope. Matthew Chapter 16:18-19)
There is an unbroken succession of popes from St. Peter to Pope Francis.Succession of popes

All of the early Church Fathers were "Catholic".
The Catholic Church compiled and canonized the Bible, in 397 A.D..
If you are a mainstream Protestant, your denomination derived from the Catholic Church.

The Catholic church is no different than those who killed Jesus.

Both of them, then and now, believe that vain tradition is necessary for redemption. They both continue to insist that the service of other men is required for salvation.

God sent Jesus, His only begotten Son, to do away with the old covenant. No longer can a mere man approach God for the remission of the sins of others. All who wish to live Godly must recognize Jesus as the only one who is able to give intercession before God.

The old covenant brought division to the church. The new covenant brings unification.

With Jesus as the High Priest forever, one needs to only believe and ask Jesus for forgiveness. The actions of other men in this regard became obsolete. No longer are other men placed in a position of importance over other men. All are equal in Gods eyes.

Jesus brought all men low and none can claim to be higher than another, because this was the purpose for which Jesus came.

The true church is not made up of differing classes of believers.

The true church is a body of believers that hold Jesus as the head and all other men as fellow brothers in Christ with no advantage over one another as it should be.

If you as a christian are elevating other men, or other men are elevating themselves above their brethren, then, you and they are in fact denying Jesus. You deny the purpose for which He came and instead bring division. You reject Jesus in order to continue practicing the doctrine of men.

Friend, your misconceptions, which run rampant in many non-Catholics circles, are too numerous to respond to here. These widespread, erroneous beliefs about the Church have been addressed extensively in other threads on this forum, but willful ignorance persists. Resources on the fundamentals of the Catholic Faith are readily available, and it would not be an arduous task for you to educate yourself on those basics. I urge you to have your facts straight, at least, before you denigrate the only Church established by Christ Himself.

Suffice it to say that the Eucharistic Lord is the Source and Summit of the Faith, and is central to the celebration of every Mass (the highest form of prayer). We believe that Jesus meant exactly what he said in John Chapter 6, and Holy Mass is a re-presentation of His Sacrifice, celebrated according to the explicit directions He gave to His apostles.

"Troublesome" wording was changed, and books excised, from the (original, Catholic) Bible when Martin Luther and King James translated their own versions, thereby substantiating the non-Biblical concepts of Sola Scriptura, Sola Fides, postponed judgment at the time of death, and the absence of a place of purification after death.

The power and authority of the Church, and its priests, is that conferred by Christ, through the action Holy Spirit. Men do not "elevate" themselves above other men, and, certainly, not above their God.

Here is our starting point:

The Apostle's Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.

Re: Biblical Help Needed! Will there be a Rapture?
In my opinion,

in my growing experience from a great many repeated observations here and elsewhere,

those that hate The Rapture

and so quickly and so thoroughly condemn all those that believe in the Rapture,

are not True believers in Jesus Christ looking for the promise of His coming

but, quite the contrary,

their peculiarly venomous hostility and attack against the Rapture and those that believe it

are evidence of its Truthfulness.

Rapture-haters are supposedly believers in Jesus Christ

that revile and condemn other believers in Jesus Christ

because those believers in Jesus Christ

believe and hope they will see Jesus Christ just a few years earlier

than what the Rapture-haters supposedly believe

and therefore condemn them as the worst of all evil...

Re: Biblical Help Needed! Will there be a Rapture?
Bible never mentions rapture. Jesus is coming back to set up his kingdom on earth. The UN will not like that.

The Bible does not contain the word "Bible" either

Re: Biblical Help Needed! Will there be a Rapture?
OP, sorry but you and I were raised the same. After many years, I have concluded that most of the Bible is written by man to control man. If you think about it the way you were raised has no value in relation to what the truth is.
Truth is truth and lies are lies. You were likely also told that to question the 100% validity of the Holy Bible is equivalent to being a non-believer. That is a man-made control mechanism. There will be no rapture. The whole scheme is designed to get you to do nothing and wait on an external salvation instead of being active to defend yourself and your rights.

Re: Biblical Help Needed! Will there be a Rapture?
Those that only want to know, notice their constant refusal to answer.

Jesus said:

Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.

Therefore it is reasonable to expect that some will be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen and to stand before Jesus Christ, is it not?

Yes or No?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73905111

Are you watching? What for?
Are you constantly focused on Christ praying to be worthy of Him?
Are you hoping to escape all these things that will happen? What escape? What things?
Do you want to suddenly, at any moment, at that moment, find yourself standing before Christ?

It's all only between You and Him as He Wills.
