Message Subject Biblical Help Needed! Will there be a Rapture?

The rapture as you know it was a money making scheme. The rich romans would confess their sins to a man in a private booth, and then "tithe" to avoid punishments

what a joke the catholic church is.

I am not Catholic, I have never ever study that religion. I don't understand why they ask forgiveness from a priest vs Jesus himself.
 Quoting: CrimsonTideGirl

The Catholic Church has never endorsed Rapture theology. The notion of
a "rapture" was an 1830 invention by one John Nelson Darby, an ex-Anglican (not a Jesuit and not Catholic at all) who misinterpreted 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Saint Peter and all the other apostles, and all of their priest successors, were given the power by Christ Himself to forgive sins in His name.
John 20: 21-23

The Catholic (meaning universal) Church was founded in 33A.D.by Jesus Christ, who placed St.Peter authority over the Church its first Pope. Matthew Chapter 16:18-19)
There is an unbroken succession of popes from St. Peter to Pope Francis.Succession of popes

All of the early Church Fathers were "Catholic".
The Catholic Church compiled and canonized the Bible, in 397 A.D..
If you are a mainstream Protestant, your denomination derived from the Catholic Church.

The Catholic church is no different than those who killed Jesus.

Both of them, then and now, believe that vain tradition is necessary for redemption. They both continue to insist that the service of other men is required for salvation.

God sent Jesus, His only begotten Son, to do away with the old covenant. No longer can a mere man approach God for the remission of the sins of others. All who wish to live Godly must recognize Jesus as the only one who is able to give intercession before God.

The old covenant brought division to the church. The new covenant brings unification.

With Jesus as the High Priest forever, one needs to only believe and ask Jesus for forgiveness. The actions of other men in this regard became obsolete. No longer are other men placed in a position of importance over other men. All are equal in Gods eyes.

Jesus brought all men low and none can claim to be higher than another, because this was the purpose for which Jesus came.

The true church is not made up of differing classes of believers.

The true church is a body of believers that hold Jesus as the head and all other men as fellow brothers in Christ with no advantage over one another as it should be.

If you as a christian are elevating other men, or other men are elevating themselves above their brethren, then, you and they are in fact denying Jesus. You deny the purpose for which He came and instead bring division. You reject Jesus in order to continue practicing the doctrine of men.

Friend, your misconceptions, which run rampant in many non-Catholics circles, are too numerous to respond to here. These widespread, erroneous beliefs about the Church have been addressed extensively in other threads on this forum, but willful ignorance persists. Resources on the fundamentals of the Catholic Faith are readily available, and it would not be an arduous task for you to educate yourself on those basics. I urge you to have your facts straight, at least, before you denigrate the only Church established by Christ Himself.

Suffice it to say that the Eucharistic Lord is the Source and Summit of the Faith, and is central to the celebration of every Mass (the highest form of prayer). We believe that Jesus meant exactly what he said in John Chapter 6, and Holy Mass is a re-presentation of His Sacrifice, celebrated according to the explicit directions He gave to His apostles.

"Troublesome" wording was changed, and books excised, from the (original, Catholic) Bible when Martin Luther and King James translated their own versions, thereby substantiating the non-Biblical concepts of Sola Scriptura, Sola Fides, postponed judgment at the time of death, and the absence of a place of purification after death.

The power and authority of the Church, and its priests, is that conferred by Christ, through the action Holy Spirit. Men do not "elevate" themselves above other men, and, certainly, not above their God.

Here is our starting point:

The Apostle's Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
 I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.
