PG&E restoring power after intentional shut-offs affect 20,500 customers

Pacific Gas and Electric Co. field crews began restoring power Sunday to approximately 20,500 customers in Butte and Yuba counties after the utility shut off electricity because of gusty winds and dry weather conditions.

They are going to shit on people after they got blamed for that fire.

Oh yeah it's Dry and windy? we'll have to turn the power off, soooo sorry. Give us a call, we'll be on the PG&E Yacht. It's the "RAW POWER", that 80ft Sunseeker with the hot topless babes on the front deck parked off of St Barts. We'll be sure to get right back to you, meanwhile enjoy the 17th century.

Earthquakes in this area are a very bad sign. I'm putting this here in case anyone is downstream from Oroville Dam. I do not believe DWR - or other .Gov funded "infastructure/utility" Companies in California. Lost my loved brother in law in one of these "fires"/ and no, there was no "warning" - many elderly/disabled were taken out.

Re: California's Lake Oroville Main Spillway Severly Damaged/Eroded. Oroville Dam's Recently Reconstructed Main Spillway Fundamentally Flawed
I dreamed today it was something that happens to Lake Almanor that causes Oroville to finally collapse or overflow and breach.
 Quoting: shake it

I have had similar..
Quoting: ALL IS ONE IS ALL

imo the BIGGEST risk for the remainder of THIS year is now the risk of an Earthquake damaging the Gates /Weir at Oroville OR such an event causing damage to the dam /spillway at Lake Almanor.

Oroville has plenty of capacity now to handle the STEADY snow melt that is now going to occur over the next 12 weeks, unless the Hyatt Power Plant has to go off line for some reason.

(remember they can't run water through that power plant UNLESS they have an electrical load on the turbines - so a major EQ that downs the transmissions lines leaving the power plant area, even if the damage is 50 miles away, WOULD force a shutdown of the Hyatt power plant - separate and apart from any damage that might or might not occur to the the Dam Structure itself).

Most here probably didn't notice but last week there were FOUR small EQ's up at Lake Almanor, including one right under the lake itself, the other's on it's periphery by just a couple of miles or so (one east, one west, one just downstream from the dam). Crunch has previously mentioned the EQ's occuring up there including a significant one right at the dam itself a few years ago, with multiple aftershocks at each end of the dam after that quake.

Even a limited breach of Lake Almanor would have HUGE consequences for Oroville, "IF" Oroville's lake level is HIGH when it happened. With an average surface area (at high lake levels) of about 16,500 acres for Oroville it would only take about 85,000+ acre feet to raise the lake 5'. 100,000 acre feet would raise Oroville 6'+-.

(currently Lake Almanor is holding about 1,100,000 acre feet of water - a major breach of the dam there would probably allow up to 1/4 to 1/2 of that water to drain out, AND there is no ability to impound any large amounts of water as it comes down the North Fork of the Feather River into Lake Oroville - though it would be a multi hour process for that water to travel down the LONG and STEEP river gorge, from Lake Almanor to Oroville, probably 5 to 12 hours)

Next winter "IF" they get a year with extended WINTER rain events in the watershed AGAIN ... then the Oroville Dam /Spillway /Weir complex may be put to the test again. For the moment the risk for the remainder of THIS year is imo really via a major outside event happening.
 Quoting: Midwest Skeptic

I agree, they can handle the inflows and outflows now.

Aside from some really unexpected outside event, they will not run the spillway.

However, they also face the chance of some unexpected event inside their system. Something could fail in the gates assembly, there could be an issue with the dam piping water and a leak forming there that would be a major issue, there also could be a problem with water piping through under the ES that would cause an issue, albeit one less major than the main dam.

The fact still remains that as long as they keep the lake above what they used to consider a safe level, even 860 ft, they are putting unnecessary pressure, stress and strain on the whole thing. That will only increase the chance of something going wrong as well as allowing them less flexibility to deal with anything that might.

Still reckless IMO and the gain isn't worth the risk.
Run it up to the max after everything is settled in, needed repairs are done and there is a proven track record of functionality, as of now, it doesn't have one.

One of our forecasters snapped a few photos of the brilliant noctilucent clouds observed by many across the western U.S. last night. These clouds are the highest clouds in the atmosphere (~260,000-280,000 ft) & are only visible during twilight hours before & after sunset. #CAwx

Interesting~

They are most often observed during the summer months from latitudes between 50° and 70° north and south of the Equator

Earthquake clouds are clouds claimed to be signs of imminent earthquakes. They have been described in antiquity

Clouds that look like ribs are caused when a normal smooth cloud that has a perfectly level top and bottom gets hit by a wind directly above it. The ribs are like waves on the ocean.

Just like me you are speculating based on observation.

If those clouds are a result of waves on the ocean they must be some pretty big frickin waves...

They are very strange no matter how you look at it.

there is a video on 'earthquakes and Cali' published 3 days ago that predicted and explained all this^ seismic swarm now hitting fairly near our Oroville Dam. Google AI won't let me post many of the key words nor post the link. I've tried 3 times and all three were rejected/couldn't post.

So, in case you didn't get my gist here it is:

A major seismic activity site (posted 3 days ago) gave a prediction and explanation of the seismic swarm now hitting west of Sacramento.

Key words referencing that video are being edited/rejected by Google AI.

The link to the video still up on utube can't be posted; tied 4 times.

I just commented in the comment section of the video that can't be mentioned nor linked that I could not post their link to here.

One of those eq's that just hit west of Sacramento was a 4.1, several low 2's.
[link to www.emsc-csem.org (secure)]

the seismic guy who's name cannot be mentioned says ^ this European seismic site is much more accurate than the heavily edited and compromised usgs data.

my posts might have appeared over dramatic re seismic activity.

i had to post in segments cause i didn't initially know why the posts were rejected/deleted.

Dutch says that holes in the crust can attract colliding/compacting plates energy release to that area; ie earth quakes/tremors. (my interpretation).

Volcanos, oil drilling, fracking, and geothermal drilling would be some examples of holes in the crust.

Dutch shows where areas of concern in his opinion were. None mentioned at Lake Oroville or Lake Almanor.

Typically the energy releases aka seismic activity move along the Craton Plate border which goes out east and then north along the east coast area.

I'm probably butchering some of what Dutch said. Definitely a good video and it mostly covers the California earthquake swarm happening today, predicted 3 days ago.
