Oroville Dam's Recently Reconstructed Main Spillway Fundamentally Flawed The point of my former post with the metabunk link is that if you look at this forecast, the watershed is in yellow. You go the kink where the straight N-S CA-NV boundary takes an angle to the SE. Then go over about 1/3 of the way W to get to the dam, and the watershed is above it. It is yellow. I can't tell if it is 12 inches or 14 or what exactly, but that would be a full 24 hour day of runoff at 80,000 cfs they can't pass, for every single inch. Now if the weather turns dry until Feb it can gradually empty. If, on the other hand, this is a weird and wacky grand solar minimum ultra wet season coming up, the dam is doomed, no question about it. Please, review your preps and what food you depend on from central valley. That's almost all your produce and all your nuts. If you live in a risky place, be alert.
