California's Lake Oroville Main Spillway Severely Damaged/Eroded. Oroville Dam's Recently Reconstructed Main Spillway Fundamentally Flawed

We really don’t need that here. Especially with Lake Oroville near empty and all the Reservoirs here will be almost empty at the end of next summer of no rain happens, but it’s not even winter yet.

I stopped following this for a few months, it's amazing to see what they've accomplished, they completely reshaped that hillside. Last time I saw it they were still doing the roller compacted concrete and filling the eroded areas, that was huge and they did it when the temperatures were over 100 degrees F, miserable work.

I'm impressed with what they got done in such a short amount of time.

Looking like it's a dry winter for California. With the main concern now being the fires. Either way California is fucked. Wet winter and the Oroville dam is likely doomed. Dry winter and pretty much the whole state will likely be burned down next summer.

Yes. Unless they fix the gates. One of these years they will need to use the spillway and if a gate gets stuck open....which is very possible with the cracked anchor tendons..it is all over.
