California's Lake Oroville Main Spillway Severely Damaged/Eroded. Oroville Dam's Recently Reconstructed Main Spillway Fundamentally Flawed

Why did the lake level go up after they opened the spillway?

That spillway is gonna chunk apart like it did 2 years ago when they crank it up to 40,000 cfs in a few days.

What looks concerning to me is the water at the bottom looks like it might be back washing up under the bottom of the ramp.. I thought they would have continued the ramp on down further to where the water wouldn't erode the rock and landscape under the bottom... I pray it doesn't fail.
Here at Old Hickory Dam during 2010 floods the water was washing the rock and all out from under the viewing platform... it was very scary.

Say goodbye to the Central Valley forever. There's no doubt in my mind that the Oroville Dam will collapse into a huge pile of rubble within a month.

Central valley came back already from inland sea..but it took a very long time..meanwhile, where do the survivors go? I agree it's breaking but so is Don Pedro, Trinity, San Luis, Shasta, and ALL those old dams.

Here's the deal. If Fort Peck Dam collapses it will wipe out every dam and major highway bridge from Montana to Saint Louis Missouri.

Needless to say that event would destroy our economy.

I'm pretty sure there was a larger white section on the left side the last time I watched the spillway.
