Those look a lot like earthquake clouds...

The successive ribs in the clouds are associated with vibrations coming from the ground. Do you teach Voodo, or are you a professional at diddling small minds? Clouds that look like ribs are caused when a normal smooth cloud that has a perfectly level top and bottom gets hit by a wind directly above it. The ribs are like waves on the ocean. Just like me you are speculating based on observation. If those clouds are a result of waves on the ocean they must be some pretty big frickin waves... They are very strange no matter how you look at it.
