Cause that road is really deteriorating under that netting area.

That weir is at least 50 years old. Is the crack new? Maybe the water underneath is causing pressure pushing up? It shouldn't matter if the lake water level is lower than the crack, it won't cause a breach if the weir cracked in half if the water is lower than the weir. Which it isn't. More likely to have a breach from "pipes" eroding than from a cracked weir.

Speaking of water levels tell my why exactly they didn't get the water down below 813, the bottom of the gates, to have as many months as possible to work on the gates...if they are even fixable. Oh that's right, they want the dam to fail, while in the meantime they siphon off as much money to themselves as possible.

That weir is long like a pencil. Unlike the gate 8 crack this crack looks like it goes all the way across.

I would not be surprised if the weir bursts open right there, today.

But I'm no professional concerning dams. Just concerned for my fellow countrymen.

there is a photo in cyberspace of that 5" spalled area that at 6" causes failure. Might be nice to repost it if somebody can find it. And yes, this is why they suddenly need a new bridge below.

That weir is not secured to the ground. The piezo sensor is a weak point. Stress is wanting to snap that weir and the piezo sensor is the weakest point.

Man, that's scary shit for all those down stream. Can you imagine the stress on parents right now?

the crack is at the top....you think it goes down to the water level? Where are we now, 7 or 8 feet below the top?

I guess if it split, it would go all the way and open up a water channel...
