Yeah I remember work crews always being there even when the lake level was extremely high. What they could actually do as far as any real work when it was? I'd say it's doubtful they could do much that would matter.

With the lake as low as it now, it's a different story. With no water on the back side of the gates, the opportunity is now that they could do real seal repair and far more significant work that is undoubtedly needed.

Whether they will or not, it appears that remains to be seen.

I hope they take advantage while they can.

OP...how many of these areas are served by electricity from Oroville and/or other hydroelectric dams... I am feeling great discomfort over the blackout. turning my stomach big time.

I'm a prepper so I would be ok. But I can't imagine all those folks with no internet, no plastic cards at the store, washing machines, refrigerators, traffic lights, you name it. Your great discomfort is probably sensing the crime and looting and suffering.

Unfortunately I’m not really sure. But those poor people in those zones.

you know something... people can grow themselves in these times.... and do.

Some years ago now during a nor easter... members of my team went without electricity including of course heat... for 11 days. it was cold.. neighbors got together.. those who had fireplaces opened space to those who did not at night and such... they did massive cooking for a few days on grills.. eating up meat in freezers and all that.. and over all they had quite a positive experience. and its not heavy winter in california. Not streets full of snow. that may be different in Washington today as to snow.
