Produced by Peruvian companies, sold and marketed at unprecedented levels, the drinks are both based on coca. All completely legal. Until May 2004, when the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) appeared on the scene and said that the drinks contain alkaloids. It wasn’t very clear which (coca has sixteen different alkaloids), but as this institution is in charge of enforcing the restrictions from the 1961 Vienna Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, Ericsson and DEVIDA began to worry. =============================== so there are 16 alkaloids in coca leaf...coca-cola supposedly cleans them from the coca first, but then why bother to include coca leaves in its formula |

MHz User ID: 117556 Canada 02/16/2007 12:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Doesn't the 'pop' sold in Europe still have to 'good stuff' in it? Some of the countries that can 'grow the plants' now market their own brand of 'pop'. I would have to 'try and re-find the article', but doesn't an American Embassy in one of those countries serve 'Bolivian tea' quite freely to anybody 'in that Embassy' as a remedy for 'altitude sickness'. How fucking two-faced is that. Under free-trade shouldn't I be allowed to get some 'Bolivian tea' if I happen to live above a certain altitude? (I'm in Canada BTW) It would be sooo cool to have the RCMP deliver it to my door.LOL When the company 'cleans the leaves' who gets to keep the 'stuff' that is washed out? |

How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think. Adolf Hitler When the government fears the people there is liberty; when the people fear the government there is tyranny. Thomas Jefferson "Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free." Jim Morrison |

You're kidding. There's an international board that dictates to countries how to regulate their substances? 99.999% of what affects our reality will be undetectable by our senses. Quoting: mercury2 74946That came from Sherman Skolnick . . . Come to think of it I was in the emergency room one time because I got hit right in the iris and the Doc was squirting something in my eye so it would stay still so he could look at it. After the 3rd or 4th squirt he said "Do you know how expensive this stuff is?" No problem with the eye but I felt really well the rest of the night. LOL He even offered me the option of staying overnight, in hindsight I should have taken him up on that offer, I might have gotten more of thatstuff. |

They are running over hill and dale and Steve is gasping for air. The person he is with is not winded in the least, he takes a few leaves from a pouch and offers them to Steve (who doesn't take them until that person has some), the next few scenes had them both running without getting tired. BTW the pop in the US will NOT do the above for you. |
