Are DeWalt cordless power tools worth the money ?
I need a HD cordless drill and reciprocal saw.
Looking at the 20v MAX series.
Kind of pricey, but willing to spend the money if they are durable and reliable.

Don't buy them is a 'box store', they're made to inferior specs.

Many companies make decent drills. Even Harbor Freight.

The catch is how good are the batteries. Dewalt has excellent batteries. Harbor Freight's are garbage.

Depends how bad you need it. Dewalt is good quality though. Tough, reliable. Battery last a long time. Plenty of power.

Basically you want a brand of drill that is all those things and you can toss off your roof into the grass and not worry about breaking it. Dewalt is one of those brands 1dunno1

I use makitas

You need to buy it at a secondary tool store, make sure you have the correct chuck size, and I don't know what you do but if it's group construction most guys run dealt 18v. Always have at least 2 batteries and 3 option, drill, hammer, and drive is best.

I think dewalt drills are the best handheld drills, but their other stuff sucks, including their bits.

Yes, I started with DeWalt and used them for many years.. tough as hell. Then some wore out and some got stolen so I replaced them with Ridgid, big mistake. I sold that Ridgid crap at a loss pretty quick and bought Milwaukee. The Milwaukee stuff is actually pretty good, but there's a few cordless tools I'd like to have that Milwaukee doesn't make, like the cords less rotozip. So now I'm springing for Dewalt again.. it really is good stuff. I bought the brushless, which is crazy expensive. If you make a living with these tools, buy DeWalt... if not, settle for Milwaukee IMHO

That sounds about right

a Hilti with 2 batteries, case, charger is about 300.
I'd be weary of the deal tbh.

Re: Are DeWalt cordless power tools worth the money ?
Somewhat relevant...

Years ago, I was using older dewalt cordless models. Batteries were shit. I switched to rigid impact/drill after Dewalt wouldn't warranty a dead screw gun. Rigid is failry decent. The newer XR brushless models are awesome! Battery lasts longer than rigid and slightly lighter.

I typically keep a cordless set for 2 years max then pass it on to someone else in the crew.

Corded hammer drill or demo hammer I like Bosch the most.
I've had mine for a decade. It's taken a beating and drilled a shitload of holes.

I have milwaukee 18 volt red lithium drills, saw, recip saw and ocillator. All good, solid workhorses and the batteries are good and strong although a bit on the expensive side.

Had a brushless drill till some dickhead stole it and that thing was completely bad ass. It could mix a whole bag of mortar or hot mud at once without struggle.....

Friend of mine works in one of the MFG's where this is made (in Kentucky, not China). Three different levels of product made there:

Entry/Home: Black and Decker
Heavy Duty: Dewalt
Pro: Porter Cable

All made in the same place.

Same here. Mine does exactly what I need it to. Plenty of power for drilling. Battery lasts long enough for the common home garage jobs I need it for.

I've owned Porter Cable and Dewalt. Very happy with Dewalt, and long lasting batteries.

A lot of people are throwing their opinions in here with no basis in fact, just subjective opinion. Kind of like Toyota vs Honda, or Ford vs Chevy.

All in all, you won't go wrong with Dewalt, OP. Very well worth the money. You'll be happy with your decision.
