That's not me you are complaining about.

I have always sided with the poor and attacked the rich Pharisee attitudes.

I think I have even had a little success in reversing the attitudes.

In the past, I wrote some rants in Stefan Molyneux about the very topic, saying he was adhering too much to that attitude and not taking into consideration that so many of the things he criticized about government, society, etc. had very hard consequences for the poor, in particular.

Single motherhood, dumbed down schools, excessive regulation, corruption, inflation, a housing bubble, bank failure, and efforts to prop up banks, and borrowing on your children's future all harm the poor immensely, and make it virtually impossible for them to succeed, let alone get up on their feet.

I explained to him that he couldn't have it both ways.

The many errors of government, media, business, banking, economy, regulation, and war have either harmed and victimized masses of people or they haven't.

If we agree those are harmful things, we have to admit that the poor have been victimized and rendered almost powerless to help themselves.

Lately, Molyneux did a video making this point. Maybe he read and thought about my comments.

Molyniew is smart, although he seems like a difficult person to hang out with.

I would be doing the sort of thing he does if I were as articulate as he.

But I am usually too distracted by other things when I talk to people - like dealing with the bad reactions people usually have to me, and trying to figure out how to put them more at ease.

I can't think fast enough to say the best things or explain myself clearly enough, and I end up putting out fires because I offend people so much.

But the issue is complicated.

It comes right down to the issue of free will, and how to handle it.

Successful people are right to adopt the attitude that what they think and do can matter and can bring them success, even when it isn't always true.

Poor people only make themselves more powerless by taking the attitude that nothing they think nor do can make any difference in their lives.

It is right to encourage people to keep trying to better their lot in life, to think smarter, and to act smarter, but it is wrong to create the impression that they are wholely to blame for their failures.

If it were so, there would be no reason to change any of the evils that cause poverty, and keep people in ignorance and poverty.

You are a simpleton if you blame the government, banksters, etc etc. I am a formerly poor kid who grew up and through actual hard work accomplished some success. I dropped out of high school, did not go to college, did not receive any loans or free monies to survive nor did I get welfare. At one point I was homeless for a few months and slept in a crappy Honda Accord I bought for 500 bucks from a college kid. I got screwed by almost every employer I ever had from Walmart - construction even though I was almost always a highly respected worker. So after learning a skilled trade by working from the bottom to the top I saved up enough cash to buy old second hand rental equipment and started my own company.

It has taken 5 years of working late constantly and at least 75% of weekends to get where I am. But now I have employees who do the work while I go off and sale my services to people that keeps the guys with a paycheck. My employees are poor but that is literally their own fault. 2 of the guys started popping out kids at 15-16 years old. And kept going until they had racked up 3-4 each. They all drink after work, lose their licenses but still insist on driving, blow money on crap items or frivolous toys for kids who have much more pressing needs. This is why they are poor it is not some grandiose plan by the elite or wealthy to oppress them it is simply they are to stupid to raise themselves up.

If their was no fiat currency or any currency at all these poor people would simply die off. Money is the same as any resource it must be collected one way or the other. Some will always excel in getting resources and others will fail.

I've been both...the poorest of the poor (homeless and eating from the garbage bins), middle class and working 7 days a week, and what many would call rich (running my own company with a good income and nice home etc). My friends run the gamut from drug addicted homeless, to some of the wealthiest of us all. I was born and raised by very hard working but poor parents and what I've learned is that "people are people". It doesn't matter whether rich or poor. There are good and bad in both...there are smart and not so smart in both. There are hardworking and lazy in both and all in between. The other thing I've learned is whatever my circumstance at any particular time is 99% a result of my personal choices! That's right...when it was bad it was due to decisions I made and when it's great its due to decisions I made. Also, if you are in a situation you don't like...you have to change something to change the situation....this is a fact. Keep doing the same old thing and you'll keep being in the same old situation.

Sure, some "rich" folks inherited their money and don't work so hard....they may even be assholes. These folks usually don't stay rich. Others who are poor become rich by chance (like the lottery) but don't change their habits or attitudes, almost always end up poor again. Most people with money that I know, actually are wonderful caring and giving people. They just work really hard and never never give up. Persistence pays off. You have to try to succeed. The big problem is that most of the poor don't understand that they have the power to change their own life....but they do...they just have to think and then act. Simple as that. I know...I've been there and done it several times.

This isn't hard folks...its reality. It really is and has always been up to you....learn that and act on it and you can do better. I promise!

Money is not currency. We use currency. Currency is not the same as any resource. There is one source of currency which we are all forced to use for transactions, and those that control it can make as much of it for themselves as they want with no cost to them. The others have to work for it.

It is a rigged game.

Also - if currency were actually money, it would all but obliterate poverty and scarcity, and not by people dying off. It is the exact reason money has been doggedly changed to currency all over the world.

Thought trump was gonna be for the people and start busting bakers and judges.
