Giving 28 years in prison for petty "hate crime" is ridiculous

History might play a large part in all this, take a look and see for yourself how one might look at this situation through "others" eyes, i.e. not just yours or the ones who has been jailed.

Either way it's ridiculous that it has to come to this. The only way for this to stop is to stop pointing out the obvious. A child is a child, black or otherwise. Come on raise that IQ, it's good for you.

They were total assholes. There should be consequences -- BUT 28 years is nuts! Many murderers don't even get that in reality.

Yet, blacks can openly attack white people physically, on camera, and toss around racial slurs and get nothing more than a slap on the mother fucking wrists.

So, that article was pretty long and described the whole event and the outcome of the trial in detail. What it did NOT mention was what crime was committed. What charges were that couple found guilty of? Is that simple info too much to ask for?

I'm from Georgia and am all for displaying the confederate flag. I'm also for the white race and am proud of my heritage, but ANYONE who goes around waving firearms and threatening someone is way out of line and asking for trouble. As my grampa used to say, "his actions done wrote a check that his butt can't cash."

Pointing guns at others is just stupid. (period) You never aim a gun at what you don't intend to shoot. And yes, I do have a CC permit and carry a 9mm every day.

That said, the sentence is extreme. I think a 5 year sentence with time served would be appropriate.

They threatened to kill the people at the birthday party. That is terrorism. Imagine if it was your young child's birthday party and a group of blacks did this to your family?

This kind of thing has to stop. You don't go around terrorizing people for the color of their skin.......especially little kids. It's disgusting and evil and there is no justification for it at all.

So where is the video of them with rifles? I haven't seen any video of that yet. However there is video of them with the flag on the trucks, so why no video of fire arms??

This was an exercise in 'free speech'.
They were driving around showing off the Confederate (and US) flag - ran into a bunch of Blacks having a street party, who became threatening, they pulled out a shotgun to back them off - police arrived, de-escalated the situation and no arrests made.


...........then along comes a spider, DA decides to charge them with 'street gang terrorism' - jury probably all black.

This is what destroys respect for the law - the sentence is out of all proportion to the crime. It's like giving marijuana users life in prison, bullshit like that. As long as they didn't physically hurt anyone, I'd probably give them a year or so. I do think what they did was pretty awful to a kid and probably terrifying to what children were there, but this is just politically based sentencing, not on any actual crime done.

Yea, I don't know. I didn't look at the video of the trucks and passengers that closely, so I don't know if it shows them. I'm just going by the gossip I heard around here. I live pretty close to where this happened. IF they had firearms and were threatening, then my statement stands.

And whether they had firearms or not, driving by a kids birthday party and yelling racial slurs is still pretty stupid. If I were out in my yard with my family and a group of blacks kept driving by and yelling their crap I would likely have been in jail myself.

Display the flag proudly, be all redneck and white and proud as you want to be, (I am), but don't go around acting like an ass. We're better than that. Be ready for the fight when the fight comes, but this kind of shit doesn't get anything done other than to get you put in jail and shut up.

We just gotta be smarter than that. And like I said, if they were waving guns then a 5 year sentence with time served should suffice, if they weren't then probation for disorderly conduct would be appropriate.

That sentence is insane for what they did. That's the kind of thing where you get sentenced to maybe 6 months if that, and pay a fine. I'm sure they will be appealing it. The judge needs to be investigated. You don't hand out a sentence like that for hatred and what might have happened. They should be judged only on what actually happened.

What they did was rediculous too. I have no pitty. If they didnt serve as an example then thered be nothing but racist rednecks riding around in pickup trucks with full sized confederate flags n gunz blazing.. like the fact it was a birthday party makes it especially sad..Im sorry, im not particularly enraged esp since its actually 13 for him and 6 years for her...there are alot of injustices in this world that involve losing alot more than 13 years..esp when the parties are guilty and bully babies.
